Vehicle Detail
This car is pretty much all original with very few upgrades or restoration. It does have an aftermarket turn signal and hazard light installed. Everything pretty much functions on the car as it should, but 1930's technology make many aspects desiring upgrades. The radio still turns on, but hasn't played broadcasts in well over 5 years. It's probably incapable of receiving digital signals. The biggest issue with the car is the original mechanical brakes. They suck and need to be converted to hydraulic. The engine itself is excellent. Always starts right up and runs strong. The transmission is good and performs well, but of course the gears are unsynchronized. The original fog lights work well, but each light turns on independently with separate switches. The wipers work, but are vacuum operated and are not great. The overall body is very good, but needs new front bumper (easy to get), and some cosmetic touch up. I believe it was repainted about 20 years ago and still looks pretty good. The car has ALWAYS been sheltered, either in a garage or shed. There is no rust. Tires are tubed and excellent. Original 85hp flathead V8 runs excellent and starts well. I have always used a fuel additive to compensate for the crappy, ethanol contaminated California unleaded gas we have to use here. This car is the original 6 volt with positive ground, and probably should be converted to12 volt, although it does quite well with 6. The battery is new and surprisingly cheap and easy to get. There is an "A" sticker from WW2 in the front window due to fuel shortage. There is a small crack in the left backseat window that doesn't affect function. Also included with the car are 2 original rear wheel covers that I removed because I like the exposed tire look. The car is not too easy to describe because it is SO different from today's cars. When I am driving or in the car, it's like being in a time machine. I can be reached at 916-424-9782 or 916-539-8815 if there are any questions.
