PHOTOS (Click on any image for a SUPERSIZE view!)(Internet Explorer users right click to open in new tab) PROJECT STORY The vehicle in this listing (VIN 109189) was frame up restored with new parts and parts from (VIN 120749). (VIN 120749) was a very nice 38,000 mile car purchased in late 2013 to be minor restored. Soon after purchase, it was discovered that (VIN 120749) was not suitable for restoration or use and was retired to be a parts car. It was disassembled & supplied a complete drivetrain/suspension, body panels, wire harnesses, glass and many interior and under car parts. A couple years passed as new parts were collected and the parts from the donor car were reconditioned. After complete disassembly, (VIN 120749) was disposed of in mid 2016. In late 2015, (VIN 109189) (THE CAR IN THIS LISTING) was purchased for restoration. It was a worn hi mile car, but had a solid foundation for restoration. It was completely disassembled, cleaned then carefully reassembled during early 2016 to early 2017 with new parts and the parts from (VIN 120749). Since the vehicle is miles exempt, the odometer from the (VIN 120749) donor car cluster was increased from 38,000 to 199,900 to reflect the (VIN 109189) history report to avoid Carfax issues. The odometer reads approx 204,xxx as of the time of listing. This vehicle was methodically restored by a 30+ year c4 enthusiast to be kept for another 30+ years. Unfortunately, the seller can no longer afford to keep the vehicle. FAULTS AND FLAWS The following consists of the main known flaws with this vehicle. It is not intended to be a complete list. Glass - Minor water spots on the glass. Eastwood sells a kit to polish these out. Steering Rack - The steering rack has minor seepage at the input shaft seal. The rack is under warranty from the re-builder (until Jan 2019). Information will be included on where to send the rack for service if desired. Seller never got around to having it fixed, because it's not that bad. Paint - The rear quarters, halo and bumper cover have been sprayed separate from the rest of the car due to the nature of the project and budget that did not allow for a full body respray. It is a very good match, but not 100%. The Corvette Decal around the back-up camera conceals some cracks in the paint around the back-up camera A few blemishes here and there can be seen up close. See the video for a close-up look at the paint. With all that said, this car gets a compliment nearly every time it's taken out. It's a nice car. Tires - The tires and wheels were purchased new by a prior owner in 2007 and sat indoors for those years. The tires are in great condition with deep tread and show no signs of cracking or rot. However, due to age, the tires technically should be replaced even though they show no signs of needing replacement. (DATE CODE 2906). This tire statement is simply a disclaimer. Radio bezel defect - The center plastic dash bezel has cosmetic damage along the bottom between the radio and climate controls. It is barely noticeable when the stereo face plate is in place (see video). Driver side floor mat does not fit very well. Cruise control works intermittently. Seller has nothing to hide and encourages potential buyers to ask any and all questions. This is a very nice restored car that can be driven around and enjoyed without the worries associated with a "perfect car".
