Vehicle Detail
1940 Buick Roadmaster coupe: Approximately 3600 of these cars were built, 320 CI straight eight, manual transmission, the big body shared with Cadillac and others. Mostly complete car needs total restoration. When I got this, the paint was baked off, so I had someone paint it simply to try to save it from further rust. Missing divider for grille, radiator, rocker panel trim, gravel shields, tail lights, and some other minor pieces, I don't believe any missing parts are not shared with other body styles. Frame is good, floor has some rust issues at the base of the hinge pillar, and some of the usual spots (lower fenders, bottom of trunk pan, spot in bottom of left door, top of fender arches on main body) but nothing too major. Left front lower A-arm has rusted through (these were just a tin metal with cast bars rather than the big stamped part most later cars used). Grille, bumpers loose in trunk. Has a couple of minor looking dents, left front fender the worst. Front rolls and steers, rear is locked up from the brake shoes rusting into the drums. It may require sacrificing them to free it up and take it apart. We can load with a loader on open trailer or truck. Most of the commercial shippers will not be able to pick this up. New York State car, NY does not use titles on 1972 and older cars. No registration but it's not hard to get a legal one. Terms - $500 deposit up front, paid in full within 10 days or prior to pickup. 30 days to pick it up, pending weather concerns, however if a buyer cannot be contacted then a $10 per day storage fee will apply. I'll take Paypal for the deposit, but would prefer the balance to be paid either in person, via bank transfer, or via USPS money order.
