Vehicle Detail
This is a 1953 Packard Convertible Coupe, one of only 1,518 built. The car looks good and runs better. Though not a show car yet, it has potential. The 327 cubic inch straight-8 (180HP) drives an Ultramatic automatic transmission. Easamatic power brakes and new brake pads all around. The hydraulic windows and top work. This car sports a working Wonderbar radio. The convertible needs some cosmetic work, including new carpets. The white top is newer fabric, but does have a 2" tear at the right rear cross-bar. The car needs a correct power antenna mast, and a matching rear view mirror for the passenger side. The bias ply tires have lots of tread, but are checked and probably should be replaced with radials. The paint job is not perfect. Chips here and there, and wrinkles along each side of the hood ornament (see photo). The interior door panels are the right color, but don't match the pattern of the back seat panels. The emergency brake cable has stretched over the years, and should be replaced. The car comes with six bins of replacement parts collected over 40 years, some new, some old. All serious bidders will receive an inventory of what's available if desired. Overall, it's a lovely automobile, and has been in my family since the late 1950's. Oh, the clock doesn't work. I have a video of this car being driven. If you're a serious bidder, send me a message and I'll send a link. Packard.
