1977 Lotus Esprit S1 project. VIN # 77040258H - originally Carnival Red, Tartan interior. Sold to Lotus West in May 1977. VIN plate appears original and engine number matches factory records. Prior to our ownership the car spent its entire life on the West Coast. Sometime in the late 70's the vehicle had a 215 V8 installed and is most likely a PBC ( Prepared By Claudius Esprit ) Unfortunately that motor is no longer with the vehicle. This Esprit still has its original carnival red paint, and tartan interior which is now in poor condition. The vehicle is a project and needs complete restoration. Lots of miscellaneous parts are included in the sale, but not a hood. Vehicle has a transmission still mounted and a non-original, non complete disassembled 907 Lotus motor. The S1's are getting hard to find, especially with this color combination. Sale includes a clean title, shipping available at buyers expense.On Oct-06-17 at 16:39:37 PDT, seller added the following information: * Confirmed *- this car is a 'Prepared By Claudius' Esprit.They did the motor swap and added the turbo side skirts. The 215 V8 that he installed was then removed in 2000 due to having a cracked block.
