Vehicle Detail
Vehicle is being offered with free delivery. For details and conditions, see the terms of the offer at the end of the listing. This auction is for a 2006 Saturn Vue Redline AWD finished in Victory Red (aka Chili Pepper Red) with the black and grey interior. It’s had over $5,400 worth of repairs and maintenance including a new timing belt and water pump and a set of four premium tires, details of which are further down in the description. The V6 Saturn Vue has a powertrain made by Honda that is also used in the Honda Odyssey, Pilot and Ridgeline. It consists of an all aluminum 3.5L SOHC 24 valve VTEC V6 engine code named J35A3 that puts out 248 horsepower and has received numerous rave reviews by engineers and the automotive press for it’s high power output, excellent economy and inherent smoothness. It features an aluminum block and cylinder heads for light weight and excellent heat dissipation, VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) for maximum power output at all engine speeds, multiport fuel injection for excellent gas mileage, distributorless coil on plug (COP) ignition for reliability in all environmental conditions and drive by wire electronic throttle for precise control of drivability parameters. The result is that this Vue engine has all the legendary quality and reliability of a Honda but costs about $3,000 less than a similarly equipped Honda Pilot. These engines easily go over 300,000 miles in normal service and it’s not uncommon to see them with over 400,000 miles come up on Ebay occasionally. The engine is mated to a Honda H5 5-speed automatic transmission that is also used in the Hondas. This transmission has a low first gear that provides brisk acceleration, while the high top gear allows for effortless highway cruising and excellent gas mileage. In fact, at 60 mph the engine is turning at only 1,600 rpm, and at 70, just 1,800 rpm. You can average mid to upper 20’s mpg, and when driven with restraint, nearly 30 mpg on the highway. That’s something most owners of other mid-sized SUV’s only dream about. And it runs great on just regular gas! The impressive fuel economy is in big part due to the low curb weight of just 3,600 pounds afforded by the Vue’s unibody construction. In comparison, a similarly equipped Ford Explorer with body-on-frame construction weighs 4,600 pounds. This Vue has the Versatrak® full time all-wheel drive system (AWD). Designed in collaboration with Steyr-Daimler-Puch Fahrzeugtechnik, an Austrian driveline supplier, it is an on-demand system that uses front wheel drive for normal driving and automatically adds rear-wheel drive as necessary on slippery road surfaces, without perceptible influence on vehicle handling or driving comfort. If one or both front wheels lose grip, the system comes into action progressively, with no buttons to push or levers to throw. The Versatrak® system is always poised to help the driver make use of the traction available by not only transferring torque from front to rear, but also from side to side between the rear wheels. When front-wheel slippage occurs Versatrak® can direct as much as 44 percent of the engine's power to each rear wheel either individually or simultaneously as needed. The advantages include lower added vehicle weight so gas mileage is nearly the same as FWD models, a low profile installation so the vehicle body doesn’t have to be raised like on many 4x4’s and increased cargo space allowing a spare tire to stored under the load floor instead of having to hang a big wheel off the end of the vehicle. And if you own any power sports like ATV’s, snowmobiles, small boats or trailers, the Saturn Vue is rated to tow up to 3,500 pounds. Rounding out the Vue powertrain is a unit body frame design that is lighter yet more rigid than the body-on-frame construction of many other SUVs. The chassis is made to smooth out your daily commute while still having fun on twisting roads. Start off with a McPherson strut independent front suspension with anti-sway bar, multi-link rear suspension with anti-sway bar and lightweight aluminum wheels. Add rack and pinion Electric Power Steering (EPS) for precise road feel, and large diameter brakes with anti-lock control, and you have an SUV that is quicker, faster and handles better than many others in it’s class. The biggest distinction Saturn vehicles have over their competitors is it’s composite body panels. The doors, fenders, quarter panels, etc. are made of materials that will never rust and are flexible enough to ward off minor impacts that would result in ugly dents or dings on metal body vehicles. Take a close look at a 15 or 20 year old Saturn and chances are it will still look as clean as a late model car. The 2006 Saturn Vue received a facelift from the previous year’s models including a revised front fascia and a redesigned interior with a more upscale styling. The virtually identical 2007 model was the last year of the box style Vue, which most owners find more attractive and distinctive than the next generation’s smooth curvy styling. While it might be presumptuous to call the Vue Redline a collector vehicle, it’s rarity, attractive styling and orphan status, may indicate a trend in that direction. The Redline edition was a low production version designed to turn an already pleasant mid-size SUV into one that drives and handles better than the others while having sports car styling that sets it apart from soccer mom vehicles. Its exterior style is very unique, combining sleek form with aerodynamic function. From its stylish lines and sharp angles, it incorporates numerous design elements to create a look that is like no other SUV on the road. The suspension has been lowered over an inch from the standard models and this gives it just the right attitude. From up front, it has a contoured bumper with integrated spoiler incorporating projector beam fog lights and air intake scoops along with a black mesh grill as well as clear lens headlights with jewel effect reflectors. Going back, there is a wide hood transitioning to a steeply raked windshield, and along the sides, large fender flares are overflowing with steamroller size tires on beautiful 7 spoke open design alloy wheels complementing the aerodynamic side skirts. Body color mirrors and door handles add a monochromatic look. On the roof, a low profile shark-fin XM radio antenna adds a euro touch, and the Vue’s lines meld into a nearly vertical rear window. The rear bumper completes the ground effects look and frames the chrome exhaust tip. The Vue Redline looks aggressive from any angle without being flashy. But if you like the exterior design, you will really like the interior. Open the door, step inside and sit down into a firm and supportive sport seat with suede inserts that will prevent your body from sliding around during spirited maneuvers. Move the 6-way power seat up or down or forward and backward with the side switch, then rotate the knob at the front for more or less lumbar support, and then adjust the tilt steering wheel for the perfect driving position. Next, look ahead at the instrument cluster with the large easy to read gauges with faces in an engine turned finish trimmed with chrome rings. Grab the thick leather wrapped steering wheel and see the cruise control and auxiliary radio switches are just a fingertip away. Notice the soft supple feel of the soft grain upholstery, take a deep breath and inhale the scent of aromatic leather and suede surrounding you. Like the inside of a classic English pub, the rich musky interior scent of the leather is more like a classic British Jaguar than a Saturn. At night, switch on the ambient lighting to fill the footwells with a soft glow. Now glance above you at the auto-dimming rearview mirror and large glass roof that lets the sun in on cold days when closed and the breeze in on warmer days when open, and drive with confidence knowing OnStar is available at touch of a button and the outside temperature and compass heading is always displayed. Lastly, gaze over at the dashboard and center stack at the titanium accents on the shift knob and shifter surround, or the chrome trim on the various dials. Not only is the styling attractive, but all the textures have a rich feel and look and all the switchgear have a precise soft touch action. From the stitching of the leather wrapped steering wheel, the graining pattern on the dash and door panels, or the layout of the knobs and switches on the dash, everything looks and feels like it came from a more expensive vehicle. The Vue Redline is a low production SUV that you don’t see every day. If you’re tired of the bland cookie-cutter shape of all the common Chevy, Ford or Dodge SUV’s and minivans on the road today, this Saturn will appeal to you. This Vue Redline is fully equipped with all the desirable safety, comfort and convenience features and equipment including: Honda 3.5 liter VTEC V6 engine Honda 5-speed automatic transmission Versatrak® full time all-wheel drive system (AWD) Air conditioning with cabin air filter Power windows with drivers one-touch express down function Power glass sunroof with sunshade and one-touch express open Power door locks Cruise control with steering wheel mounted switches Tilt steering wheel Remote keyless entry Redline Package (option code HEG) which includes: Leather seats with suede inserts 6-way power drivers seat with manual lumbar and recline adjustments Sport instrument cluster with unique faceplate and chrome gauge trim Driver selectable two color ambient footwell lighting 3-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with redundant controls VUE logo embroidered floor mats Stainless steel trimmed foot pedals Red wrinkle finished intake manifold cover and front valve cover Chrome exhaust tip Monochromatic front and rear bumper ground effects with integrated front spoiler Monochromatic side skirts Lowered and sport tuned suspension and performance springs 18” alloy wheels P245/50R18 performance tires AM/FM/CD MP3 stereo with six speakers, digital clock, RDS and steering wheel mounted controls Saturn Advanced Audio System with 160 watt amplifier and rear subwoofer Auxiliary input jack for external devices like iPods XM satellite radio Roof mounted eurostyle shark-fin XM antenna OnStar System® Electrochromic auto-dimming interior rearview mirror Compass and outside temperature display in rearview mirror Intermittent wipers front and rear Front seat fold-down center armrests Drivers seatback storage pocket Passenger seatback folds down flat Center console with cup holders, hidden storage compartment, 12V power outlet, rear passenger cup holders and 12V power outlet Front door storage pockets Left dash storage pocket Dual footwell storage pockets 70/30 split fold-down and reclining rear seats Tinted glass with Solar-Ray® privacy tint in rear Automatic headlights Headlights off delay Clear lens headlights with jewel effect reflectors Projector beam fog lights Illuminated entry Dual dome lights with front overhead map lights Battery run-down protection to de-power any electrical items left on over 10 minutes Body color door handles and mirrors Dual power outside mirrors Dual visor vanity mirrors Insulated hood Dual hatchback lights 4 cargo area tie-down hooks 2 cargo area coat hooks and 1 grocery bag hook Cargo area side storage bin Cargo area folding pop-up organizer 2 hidden storage bins under cargo floor Rear window defroster Rear door storage pockets Immobilizer anti-theft security system Dual stage front airbags with passenger sensing system Head curtain airbags Seatbelt pretensioners Adjustable height front seatbelt side anchors Child seat anchors (LATCH®) system Anti-lock brakes Electric power rack and pinion steering Front and rear sway bars And many more items too numerous to mention. While it has above average mileage, it could pass for one with just 75,000 miles. The Victory Red paint just about glows in the sunlight and the Vue is absolutely fantastic in this color. This shade of red would make a Ferrari owner envious. If you are going to buy a new to you vehicle, you should get the hottest color they come in, you shouldn’t have to settle on just any color that comes along. Sure, black or blue are nice, green is interesting, and white and silver are O.K. if a bit bland, but only this shade of red really catches everyone’s eye. Remember, as you step out of your home every day, and as you set eyes on your ride, nothing but a Victory Red Vue will get you feeling as excited about your day ahead. You’ll probably be driving this Vue for a few years, so just ask yourself, would you rather wake up every morning to a bright red vehicle, or just some other color you “settled” for. And you’re sure to get many questions and complements about it at the mall or supermarket parking lot from total strangers. If you don’t want attention, or if you are the least bit shy, don’t buy this Vue, I warn you. It has a beautiful dent-free body with excellent paint and even after walking around it twice, I couldn’t find a significant scratch or blemish. It has been cleaned with Meguiar’s Smooth Surface Clay System, polished with Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze cleaner polish, topped off with Meguiar’s Ultimate Synthetic Wax and then sealed with Meguiar’s Ultimate Fast Finish for a long lasting brilliant high gloss shine. The headlights were detailed with the 3M headlight polishing system for a crystal clear look. Even the wheels have been cleaned and waxed! How obsessed is that? Ditto for the chrome exhaust tip. All the glass, moldings, trim and emblems are excellent, I checked the car out top to bottom and found no evidence that is was ever wrecked. The rear bumper cover had a tear in it and instead of having it repaired, I bought a new GM bumper and had it painted. The interior is in great condition as well and included are a pair of rare embroidered factory floor mats. (drivers side worn) It has very nice upholstery, carpet, dashboard, door panels and headliner with no significant signs of wear. The car doesn‘t appear to have been smoked in. In fact, it’s not even equipped with a lighter. The cargo area looks like it was hardly ever used and the engine compartment has been fully detailed and is clean enough to eat off of. The Redline exclusive wrinkle finish engine trim is another detail a Ferrari owner would recognize. Mechanically it runs and drives great. The engine starts instantly whether hot or cold and runs strong and feels smooth both at idle, while accelerating and throughout the cruising range. The transmission shifts smoothly. The steering wheel is on dead center going down the road with no shakes or vibrations at speed, the brakes are firm with no pulling to one side when stopping and the suspension is tight. There are some squeaks from the front at low speeds that sound like strut mounts. The A/C blows ice cold. It has a pair of like new Nexen N5000 PLUS tires on the front and a pair of Bridgestone Turanza EL42 tires on the rear also in like new condition. These both are all-season M+S rated tires that combine a high performance tread design with exceptional all-season wet/dry traction for excellent handling. They have been balanced with coated balance weights mounted on the inside of the wheel for a super clean look. These weights won’t corrode and turn ugly like cheap uncoated weights. It has a Firestone spare tire that doesn’t look like it has ever been used. The vehicle has been fully checked out and serviced with over $5,400 worth of new or recent parts, tires, maintenance and repairs with original GM, AC Delco or other name brand parts so that only your enjoyment rather than your immediate attention will be required on delivery. Overall this is a super sharp SUV that looks absolutely fantastic in this Victory Red color. The cost new of this Vue Redline was over $28,800 in 2006 CLICK HERE to see the price new, but because it was a hot model, most dealers were adding additional market adjustment markups (read rip off), so with tax, title and tags, the out the door price was well north of $30K. It’s been a southern vehicle from North Carolina and Maryland which probably explains why it’s so clean. CLICK HERE to see the title. Plus it has a clean and clear Carfax. CLICK HERE to see the Carfax. The car comes with all the books: Two factory remotes and keys and an emergency wallet key: A factory accessory sunroof air deflector: And a set of factory embroidered carpeted floor mats (driver’s mat worn): If you are serious about buying a Saturn Vue in general, and a Redline model specifically, this is about as low as they go in this nice condition. Remember, you can get a great deal on Ebay with prices sometimes way below retail, but no bidder is going to “steal” a vehicle and no seller is going to give one away either. Also when comparing prices, remember the things that you won’t have to spend money on soon after getting it home. With this Vue you won’t have to spend $1,000 or more on paint or bodywork to fix scratched bumpers or a broken panel, you wont have to spend $900 for a timing belt and water pump service, you won’t have to spend $800 for a new set of tires, you won’t have to spend $600 on new front wheel bearings, you won’t have to spend $400 on a complete front brake service, you won’t have to spend $400 on a complete rear brake service, you won’t have to spend $300 on a coolant and brake flush, you won’t have to spend $300 on a transmission, transfer case and rear axle fluid change, you won’t have to spend $300 on a valve adjustment, you won’t have to spend $300 on a tune-up and filters service, and you won’t have to spend $300 on any upcoming scheduled maintenance. With many of the other listings on Ebay, Craigslist or on dealers lots, you’re lucky if they even check the oil before delivery. Also, when comparing this Vue to the others listed, keep in mind that this vehicle was never wrecked, has a clean Carfax, runs excellent, is fully serviced, hasn’t been smoked in and is clean inside and out. If you are looking for an all original Redline in beautiful condition at a good price, then this one is hard to beat. I sold a black 2007 Redline FWD here in January with 148,000 miles for $7,500 with Buy It Now. CLICK HERE to see that listing. And I sold a red 2006 Redline FWD in June with 221,000 miles for $5,000 locally before the auction ended. CLICK HERE to see that Vue. The Vue in this listing is identical to that one except this one is AWD and has a little less miles so the Buy It Now price is a better deal overall. Also remember that we don’t charge dealer processing fees or document fees that many other listings have for $200 or more and bury in their fine print. And don’t be fooled by some other auctions that are advertised as NO RESERVE and start at $100 or some other low price. Since no dealer is going to risk losing thousands of dollars if their auction doesn’t bring enough money, you can be pretty sure he has some “people” bidding on it for him. Especially those auctions that are private listings where it says “User ID kept private.” Also, don’t think that you will get a much better deal if you just keep bidding it up instead of using B.I.N., especially if you need it delivered. TERMS OF THE AUCTION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Since this vehicle may be advertised locally, auction can be canceled at any time (unless auction ended early with BUY IT NOW) due to prior sale without liability to any bidder. A down payment of $500 (plus any additional delivery charge) is required within 3 days of the close of the auction, balance due in cash on delivery or certified funds on delivery if I deliver it or you pick it up, or before it’s dropped off at the transporter if a shipping company is transporting it, but no later than 7 days after the close of the auction without prior agreement. I accept bank or certified checks, money orders, credit cards through PayPal (accepted for down payment only). If paying balance with funds other than cash, buyer to fax copy of monetary instrument no less than 24 hours before picking up vehicle. The vehicle is sold as is. Buyer is welcome to inspect vehicle BEFORE the end of the auction or to have someone check it out on your behalf provided you authorize whoever is checking the vehicle to provide me with a copy of the results. I have tried to accurately describe this vehicle, both mechanically and cosmetically but you can expect a certain amount of minor flaws on ANY used car including squeaks, rattles, drips, nicks, chips, scratches, blemishes and any other marks that are consistent with the age and mileage of the vehicle. There is no possible way to include all minute details and imperfections, however, I believe my listing accurately depicts this vehicle and if there are any issues they are noted in the description. Also remember that a vehicle is made up of thousands of mechanical parts and components and in an older or higher mileage used vehicle a part that is working fine now may go bad the next day, in a week, or a month from now. It’s nearly impossible to tell when a particular part or component will fail as most don’t exhibit prior symptoms, however, proper preventative maintenance as this vehicle has received, can prevent most problems or breakdowns from happening. In fairness to all bidders the reserve price will not be disclosed so please don’t even ask. Buyer responsible for transportation and vehicle must be paid for in full before it can be released. May deliver. Email or call for delivery quote or for any other questions. atikovi@email.com Maryland and District of Columbia dealer. Phone 202-246-5201. Please do not bid if you don’t intend to buy. FREE DELIVERY TERMS: Free delivery within 500 miles of the Washington DC area if bidder purchases vehicle with Buy It Now. (35 cents per mile for additional miles as shown in MapQuest.com from zip code 20001 to your address.) That is still the same rate as when I started on Ebay 17 years ago. Remember, the Buy It Now option disappears once the reserve price is met. The Buy It Now price is $5,995. AUCTION ENDS: 10:00pm sharp, EASTERN TIME Sunday October 1st unless Buy It Now is used. SPECIAL OFFER FOR QUICK SALE: DOUBLE THE FREE DELIVERY RANGE: Use Buy It Now before the halfway point in the auction, 10:00pm EASTERN TIME Tuesday September 26th and I will double the free delivery miles to 1,000 miles total. On Sep-27-17 at 05:25:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Lowered the reserve and dropped the Buy It Now by $500. In a month or two when buyers start looking for 4x4's, the price of these vehicles always go up. On Sep-30-17 at 05:10:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Lowered the Buy It Now price another $500. If you want the cleanest and most serviced Saturn Vue Redline in the country and in the best color, this is it.
