Vehicle Detail

Up for auction, my 1939 Buick Special. This is a nice example of a good old car. I've run out of room and cannot keep it. This car spent much of it's life in the care of a local hotel, where it was used to shuttle their guests from one area of the property to another. It is solid and mostly in-fooled with. The straight 8 runs as it should, and chugs down the road. I don't know for sure if the paint is original or not. If it has been resprayed, it was a very long time ago. The paint is black lacquer that shines very well. It is not without it's imperfections, and I've tried to photo some of them for this ad. Honestly, the photos make those areas look worse than they are, it is extremely presentable in person, and shines well. But the paint does have it's imperfections here and there, as any almost 80 year old car would. I posted a couple of those spots, but it has small blemishes throughout. Again, it is extremely presentable, and I feel the photos of the car overall represent what it looks like in person pretty well. The interior is showing it's age. I would call it a 6 out of 10, with worn carpet, very minor wear on the rear seat, some fading on the door panels, etc. And there is a good reason for the seat cover on the front seat, the driver's side seat bottom has a sizable split. Overall the interior is functional, but not 100% perfect. It wouldn't take much to straighten it out if you wanted to. It benefits from a new 8V battery that cranks the car nicely. It also has an electric fuel pump, and aftermarket mechanical temperature gauge that is accurate. This car runs down the road as it should. With an aggressive off the line start, the clutch will shudder some. Taking off gently/normally, it is smooth. This car has been driven very little in the last 3 years, and would benefit greatly from some long drives. Overall, this is a really great driver-quality car. It has seen only a few parade miles and ice cream runs over the past few years, and really needs someone to drive it and enjoy it. It is an extremely honest and straightforward car.
