This is a 1983 Honda XL250R. This bike is in really good condition and runs well. It is a two owner bike. I believe that it was with the original owner from 1983 until late 2015 or early 2016. The second owner, who I purchased it from said he was doing contracting work at a customer's house and spotted it in the garage. The original owner told him it had been sitting there for years. He only had it a couple of months and then bought a bigger bike and sold this to me. I have a signed NY title from him. I never registered it, just parked it in my garage with my other bikes and rode it occasionally around my neighborhood. Besides a few little blemishes from being in a garage it looks nearly new. If you look closely at some of the parts that normally fade like the horn button, turn signal button, and rubber boots that go on the mirrors, they look like brand new parts. The inside of the tank is clean and rust free. It has everything except the tool kit and it all works as it should. The seat is perfect and comfortable. The suspension is really good like a new bike. Fork seals seem good and it doesn't leak any oil. I think the battery is getting a little weak though. As with any bike this age I would recommend adjusting the valves and carb to get it running perfectly. It runs well but has the occasional backfire. The only thing wrong with this bike is the rubber on the rear tail light assembly has a split in it which I glued together, you can see it in the pics. This is a no reserve auction and will go to the highest bidder so rest assured if you win the bid it will be yours. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer, I will assist however I can and will hold the bike for a reasonable time while arrangements are made. The winner must make a non refundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours after end of auction. Full payment within 14 days.
