Up for sale is a 2004 Cadillac Escalade Base with 6.0L Motor and AWD. I will attempt to list everything that I know of that is wrong with it. I have driven it for the last 7 years and am ready for something else. I do not want to put any more money into it. If you enjoy working on cars, this could be the vehicle for you. First and foremost, the transmission is nearly shot. Only reverse, first and second gears work. It is driveable, but will have a max speed of around 40mph.Not aware of anything seriously wrong with the engine, however it does burn a little oil. You will see some white smoke when starting it sometimes. Plugs and wires were changed a few thousand miles agoService Ride Control message is displayed. Have not had it diagnosed, but I'm sure at least the compressor is shot. Still rides pretty good considering the mileage.TPMS does not workCheck Air Bag light is onInstrument cluster will need a rebuild. RPM and speedometer do not work, sometimes the entire cluster will power off and back on while driving.Backup Sensors work intermittentlyHas navigation but does not read DVDs. Most of the buttons are worn off. CD changer does work.Driver side heated seat will sometimes randomly cycle on and off. Very annoying during the summer time.Passenger power seat recline switch is broke. You can move it forward/back but cannot adjust the seat back.Tires only have a few thousand miles on them but the rims are corroding, causing two of the tires to not seal well and have a very slow air leak. Also, two center caps are missing.Piece of trim is missing from the passenger front door.There is some rust below the rear doors on both sides.Carpet is pretty badly stained. Everything listed above with the exception of the transmission has been that way for the last several years. This could still be a viable car if you have the means to get the transmission fixed for a good price.
