Vehicle Detail
Hi , , You are looking at as close to rust free of a survivor car as you will probably ever see , one of the pics shows 4 little holes in the driver's side floor pan , and they are on the upper edge of the reinforcement line , so I think they may have been screw holes , I have been hanging on to this car for many years , to bring it back to , Better than new " restoration , but , I can't put off back surgery any longer , the pain started to get bad 6 months ago , ( although the break happened 1-24 -80 ) I live with being uncomfortable . In order to be off work for 3 months , I need to sell off a few of my toys . This car was used , for a short time as a bracket car , and in doing so , someone tried to do a trans brake , they must have put a ball where it was not supposed to be , because , it will take off , " like a bat outta hell' but when it shifts into second , it is like hitting the brakes , , so , even though the trans may be fixable , we will just say it needs a tranny , I have a spare that can be installed , The Bad ; the stitching on the seats are coming apart , as is the headliner , it has an aftermarket full view ?? JC WHitney , panorama , rear view mirror , though the windshield is cracked , the rest of the glass is in great shape ,a Grant steering wheel , baby moons that were great when I put them on 7 years ago , along with tires that are now weather checked . the Good: the car is totally original , with original paint , upholstery , all the trim is in the trunk with a few extra pieces , there is slight damage to one piece of side trim , that can easily be straightened and polished , ( I do stainless Resto) , I purchased a nearly perfect , original steering wheel , ( included ) The engine is not original , but runs good ,( it was a 260 car) . But the fuel system and all systems , for that matter, should be cleaned up , There is no rust in the rockers , or lower fenders , the rear quarters are good , but the driver rear had a small job done to it many years ago , and has some Bondo in it , I sanded it down a bit a few years ago , and did not put enough paint over the bare metal , and it has some surface rust , the quarter damage could probably be metal finished , by a good body man . and the front right bumped into something , so the fender metal will need a bit of straightening , but I have a replacement for the pot metal trim part fender extension . truly a time capsule car , in great shape to begin a project , with original keys , and clear Montana title, last changed hands in '91, last licensed in 2003 Thanx for taking the time to look in Joe's Garage , Feel free to read " about me , and my 100% positive feedback , Know who you are dealing with
