Vehicle Detail
I am the 2nd owner. I purchased the car from its original owner in January 2016. Car had lived its entire life in Maryland. In 1998 the original 3.2L motor needed a complete rebuild; instead of building the original motor, the owner commissioned a 3.6L from a 1992 911 964. Prior to installing the 964 motor, the motor went through a complete rebuild by a professional Porsche shop – all internals were replaced including pistons and rods. With the new engine installed, the owner commissioned another project of converting the car into a 930-look. Car’s paint was stripped down to metal, steel turbo flares were butt welded, complete new interior and exterior, suspension, and brakes were installed. The odometer shows about 191k miles, the new built engine has traveled about 10k miles. I have a 2 inch thick binder of invoices from the past history of work and my current work. Car does not leak any oils or liquids, it drives very fast, Since completion, car has traveled about 400 miles. See below of the work I did:1. Lighting· New rear center reflector · Headlights – one of my favorite aesthetics of the car. I could talk about them for hours and the quality is nothing short of sublime. I paid about 3k for them and they’re worth every penny. They’re a patterned design HID lights handmade by a local guy named Lee. There are so much geekiness and detail involved with them that it’s hard for me to put into words. They’re aircraft quality and materials. They have quilted buckets, DENSO Ballasts, Daytime running 5500k USA made LEDs, Bi-xeon projectors, OSRAM D2S 5500k night breaker bulbs, hard coated yellow (RSR style) H4 lenses, Inner 4 point bezel. My car is the only set that you’ll find with these lights as they were one of his first prototypes; much better quality than Singer lights and the knockoffs that you see on RWB builds. The yellow Lenses can easily be swapped with clear ones if you feel yellow is not your cup-of-tea. Without the yellow lenses, you get this perfectly crystal blue light that is enjoyable to the eye. The clear lenses are relatively inexpensive and can be ordered through Lee. If you take a closer look at the walk around the video; you’ll see what the clear ones look like.· Amber front and rear turning signals 11. Interior – (by Car Classic Interiors – best in town)· RS America Door panel set in black leather (by Appbiz) · RS style carpet set in black (by Appbiz)· Roll Bar - 4 point weld-in stand alone with integrated harness bar (by Patrick Motorsports)· Radio delete · New black glove box· Corbeau FX1 Pro Seats – cushions professionally wrapped in original Porsche houndstooth fabric· Dashboard and door tops wrapped in black vinyl 12. Wheels and Tires· Fikse Fuchs finished in Stain Gold 17x11 back, 17x9 front (same wheels as on Singer)· NT555 Tires - 315/17/35 rear, 235/17/45 front13. CA Smog· Street Legal/smog – for the records, the car is a race car for the road, and the thing never even passed smog even with the stock muffler and exhaust that I got it with. As we all know, these air cooled cars are all borderline with the smog guidelines of California. I did not plan to jeopardize the noises this car makes due to smog regs of CA; I wouldn’t have this car any other way. It is registered “through someone that I know.” If the winner happens to be in California and needs help, I will introduce them to my guy. Making is California Smog legal is possible and can be done at TRE Motorsports. Shops worked on car:1. TRE Motorsports – all mechanical installation work2. West Coast Body & Paint – Body and paint work3. Car Classic Interiors Upholstery Restoration – all interior work4. West End Alignment – suspension tuning, alignment, and height adjustment 5. Keith Richardson – paint correction and polishing (Instagram: keithstouch1977) I have more photos of the build and current photos on my Istagram page (Allens240z) I have 150k of receipt for this build from past to present.
