Vehicle Detail
1964 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special Four-Door Hardtop in original, unmolested condition! This is a Kansas City car from new with the original leather key holder from the Cadillac dealer there at the time. I purchased the car recently from an antique car dealer who purchased it in 2013 from the second owner in Kansas City. The car had been in storage since 1983 and the antique car dealer replaced the fuel tank and lines, the brake system, and put the car in drivable condition. The car is now in the shop for a carburetor rebuild, exhaust system repair, and front-end repair. I have decided to sell the car due to lack of time with my work schedule. This car has the original black lacquer paint on it and will need to be repainted. There is also rust damage in both front fenders as well as the surface rust on the rear fenders and fender skirts. The trunk is very clean with the original spare tire, cover, and jack in place. The original interior is white perforated leather, which has had a vinyl seat cover installed over the front seat. The back seat leather is brittle with some damage on the passenger side as well as the top of the seat. The original black carpeting is intact. I purchased a very nice aluminum driver's door threshold from a 1964 Fleetwood parts car to replace the damaged driver's door threshold on this car. All the power windows and vent windows work properly as well as some of the interior door lights. The original white headliner is in serviceable condition with no tears. Also intact is the beautiful African baku wood door and dash paneling. The vacuum door locks need work as does the vacuum trunk lock. The trunk lock cylinder is missing, but the Cadillac badge cover is intact. I have not yet been able to locate a replacement trunk lock cylinder. One of the amazing things about this car is that the signal seeking radio and electric antenna still work, as well as the twilight sentinel headlight delay feature (first year it was offered). Unfortunately, the A/C compressor is missing and I do not know if the heater is in working order. The tires are old but they do hold air. The back bumper is not rusty, but it was bumped at one time which pushed the original Fleetwood grill in slightly. A better set of Fleetwood rear bumper grills are included with the car. The lower front bumper pods are rusted out, but the upper sections and grill are in serviceable condition. This car offers every option Cadillac offered in 1964, as far as I can tell from original literature. There are some dents in the left and right quarter panels. The fender skirts were in the trunk when the car was delivered to me in SC and I put them back on the car. All the chrome trim, letters, and badges are intact as well as the owner's manual in the glove box. This is the perfect Sixty Special for the Cadillac enthusiast to drive as is or restore as time and money permit! Bidders from the 48 contiguous United States only, please.
