2002 Porsche Boxster S WP0CB29822U660936 115,101 miles This is a two owner Georgia car with a complete verified history back to day one. The car has never been smoked in and has been garaged its entire life. It comes with a clear Georgia title, a Georgia Bill of Sale, current Georgia registration and a Service file. The original owner is a retired University of Georgia professor. The car had all under-warranty services done at the Porsche dealer and the remainder performed by a local mechanic who is well versed in everything Porsche. The car lived in the professor’s three car garage with his wife’s Mercedes wagon and the BMW 3-series he used for his daily transportation. The professor had a penchant for Porsches so in November of 2010 he bought a GT3 as a retirement present for himself. Reluctantly, he parted with the little Boxster but took heart in knowing it was going to a good home. He knew this because he decided to sell the car to the very mechanic who had been performing all the service on it! The current owner is the head mechanic at Speedwell and very well respected in his field. He continued to garage the car and take the same level of care of it that the professor had. The things that are common maladies on this version of the Boxster have been addressed. Those would be the ignition lock and switch replacement with upgraded Porsche parts, installation of the Porsche redesigned coolant reservoir and installation of the Porsche redesigned vapor trap. There are no trouble lights on and everything works exactly as designed. Though the factory recommends oil changes be done every 15,000 miles, oil changes have been performed on this Boxster every 7000 miles (annually) using Mobile 1 0W40 oil and genuine Porsche oil filters every time. This Boxster has definitely led a charmed life. After nearly 7 years of proud ownership, the current owner has decided to sell in order to streamline his own life with an eye toward retirement. The car rides on BBS Alloy wheels shod in nearly new Continental Extreme Contact radials. The front are 18x8 with 225/40ZR18 tires while the rear wheels are 18x9.5 with 265/35ZR18 tires. There is no uneven wear on the tires and they ride, drive and handle in a manner very becoming to the Porsche. The driving experience is everything you would hope for. This car starts right up with powerful eagerness and settles quickly into a cadenced idle. The S fairly rushes forward. It has glorious torque, which makes for pushy thrust as the tach swings past 4000, swelling exuberantly on toward 6000. This midrange is so lusty, the six-speed's ratios are so perfectly spaced, and the pipe-organ music from behind is so sweet that you can happily play on the back roads without pushing to the 7200 redline. The car’s 4-wheel disc brakes can quickly and easily haul you down from dizzying speeds to zero in no time at all without a bit of fuss. This car exhibits no strange noises or rattles and everything works as it should. The transmission shifts smoothly, the clutch engages exactly as one would expect and the sounds from the engine are a symphony. The paintwork is in very good conditioning with minimal scratches and nicks. The convertible top works perfectly and is in very good condition. The rear window does have a small slit in the bottom left hand corner (pictured), but it has been rendered harmless. Neither the original owner, nor current are large of frame so the interior has received very little wear and the leather seats show very little wear. The front and rear trunk spaces are excellent and all the equipment therein remains complete.
