Vehicle Detail
2003 Volkswagen Eurovan MV - needs transmission, otherwise great shape. 198k miles. Runs and drives excellent- except for transmission. I purchased the Eurovan three years ago from a dealer in South Carolina. Original owner donated the van. Dealer purchased at auction, replaced timing chains and offered for sale. As far as I know the van only had one owner before me and lived only in North Carolina before it came to me. The van is super clean underneath. Definitely a southern car. I had planned to keep the van for the long-haul (as all the recent repairs will attest) but I found a replacement that I couldn't pass up. So this van must go. The Eurovan needs the transmission replaced. The transmission will slip under load and is reluctant to upshift at speed. My mechanic reported that the transmission code was DRG. However, according to the VIN the van should have a transmission code EQJ. I imagine that you would need to replace, rather than rebuild, the transmission. This is really an excellent van minus the transmission issue. I had been driving it regularly around town with some care. With judicious throttle application, avoiding putting it under high stress and avoiding highway speeds it could be driven away. New brake pads and drilled/slotted rotors all around within 500 miles. New front end parts (l&r tie rods, steering boot, lower ball joints) within 500 miles. Front end is tight. Recent Techtonics Tuning cat-back stainless exhaust. Recent windshield. Nice and clear. Full set of factory curtains. All cup holders intact. All armrests are solid. Everything works (heat, A/C, p/w, power mirrors, radio, etc.) except heated front seats. All seats in the van are from a 1999 Eurovan with about 100k miles. The wiring and switches for the heated seats are in place but would require some adapting to work. No rear headrests. (2) keys: (1) original flip key and (1) new straight key. Factory manuals. Factory carpet in rear and some MKIII GTI monster mats in the front. Not an exact fit but do the job. No real rust, just two small spots (shown in photos)- one spot near top center of windshield and one on rear hatch near wiper. There is no clip to hold table to wall when folded. Not really an issue. The front bumper has a broken bracket and missing driving light. The bumper got hooked up on a curb stone while backing out of a parking space. Damage was minimal but bumper not quite flush and no passenger driving lamp. Wheels are 16" Audi with Michelin Defender tires 205/60 16 98T. Load index is a little low for the van. Tires have good tread but are showing some age related cracking. Would not recommend tires for the long term but I have miles on them without issue. Plan to replace. I can show the van on weekend of 07/08-09 and evenings 07/10-07/14. Eurovan is in zipcode 02130. The Eurovan is not registered and cannot be test-driven. If you have question please let me know. Eurovan is sold as-is, where-is with all conditions known and unknown. Bill of sale will reflect this. Clear MA title in hand ready to sign over. Van is listed locally. May end auction for local sale.
