Vehicle Detail
This is a very clean 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI. It was a project while my son was in High School. I have receipts for a lengthy list of parts replaced that includes the following: Exterior: New door and rear hatch rubber New side door window rubber and felt Re-keyed doors and hatch to match new ignition Bumpers powder coated Tinted rear (3) windows New sunroof seal Original wheels professionally refurbished ($700) New tires Refurbished both side mirrors with new glass New wiper blades Interior: New headliner New carpet New (4) VW floor mats Four new speakers (Kicker's in rear sides) Older Pioneer Radio with auxiliary cable for IPod or MP3 New interior rear view mirror New shifter boot Mechanical: Rebuilt steer column Rebuilt steering rack New steering tie rods and ends New lower ball joints New front wheels bearings and hubs New struts all around New coil springs (one inch drop) Rebuilt master cylinder Rebuilt power brake unit New rubber brake hoses to front wheels and to rear swing arm New rear brake pads and cylinders New front rotors, pads, and rebuilt calipers New parking brake cables Engine: All (4) new motor mounts New timing belt New battery New battery cables New braided (high pressure) braided fuel lines New fuel pump New fuel accumulator New radiator over flow tank Installed shift linkage rebuilt kit (bushings) I engine runs well, is clean, and does not drip engine oil. I also have complete engine (partially disassembled) that appears to be usable. It is a "JH" block that is the same as the one in the car. It goes with the car if the buyer wants it. The car has an older paint job. It has some speckling on the hood. Paint is cracked behind the drivers side rear fender and a small dent in the right rear next to the hatch ( shown in photos). The vehicle appears to free of rust. I did not find any during replacement of the above parts.
