The 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air is a rare find. Fewer and fewer are available in today's classic car market. I've been to many large car shows and rarely do you find a beautiful design like the unique 58 Chevy. It was the year of the "X" frame with coil springs on all wheels which produced a smooth ride. This 4 door sedan has a 283 cu. in. motor with a power glide transmission. The engine starts easily and runs well. The sound of the duel exhaust pipes has a mellow sound. The transmission & differential appear to be solid there is no indication otherwise. Lots of extra parts come with the car. All of the chrome is present & mounted on the body. The floors & trunk are solid with the exception of a small rust hole about the size of a dime on the front passengers side. Rust can be found typically over the rear tires and front headlights on most 58 Chevrolets. The windshield and wing glass is cracked; however, I have a new wing glass. This is a project car with needs, but it can be a lot of fun restoring it with friends or with family members. The nostalgia for me was the memories it evoked as I dove it through the country. While I am not a mechanic or a auto-body person, I believe this car will be easier to restore than many I have seen advertised. The price of the car is very reasonable for the value of the car.
