I have owned this truck for 7 years and it has been one of the best, most reliable vehicles I have every owned. I was never afraid to hop in and go anywhere in any weather over the years. I have kept up on the maintenance on the legendary 7.3 diesel with regular synthetic oil changes every 3K to 5K miles. I have replace the transmission at 129K miles with a more heavy duty clutch and I had the front end done when I first got the it with 108K miles on it. Most recently I have had the valve cover gaskets done at 173K and the wheel bearings done at 177K. Also, at 170K, I replaced the main brain on the truck. All of these are common, well known items that go over time. The oil pan is in good shape, not rusted out like most of these vehicles. With that said, the new owner will have years of use without having to replace these costly items. If I did not need a pick up, I would drive this for a few hundred thousand more miles. The Excursion is not perfect. There are a few minor chips on the hood and one crease on the driver's side rear, from a tight turn with a travel trailer. It has very minor clear coat peel on the hood. The tires are at about 50%. With the price of diesels and the added cost of DEF, this truck is a great investment that will last longer than most new ones that cost 50K-70K.
