Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a very special 1969 CB 750 Sandcast motorcycle. Frame #1005708 Engine #1005420 My Baby, as I refer to 5420 was featured in a 2015 Japanese market multi media commercial for Bike O (a Japanese motorcycle dealership chain) starring New York Yankees 2009 World Series MVP (And Japanese Mega Star)Hideki Matsui. Mr. Matsui was kind enough to autograph the motorcycle at the end of the 3 day shoot in New York City in the fall of 2014. The bike has been ridden 818 miles since its 2003-2006 restoration, mostly to Americade and the Rhinebeck Grand National meet in Upstate NY. This is not a Vic World museum piece but a bike that I restored to be a reliable & roadworthy classic. It has a Dynatek Dyna S electronic ignition & Dyna coils and wires which assure immediate trouble free starts. It has a HM300 NOS exhaust system, NOS Honda spokes and nipples lased to the original wheels by Buchanan's Spoke & Rim, Inc. and modern Dunlop D404 tires. The 1969 leather swingarm bushings were replaced with machined bronze bushings from M3 Racing. (This makes a huge improvement in riding.) Original recessed ignition with 2 plug keys, owner’s manual and tool kit are included. I spent thousands of dollars on vintage and NOS parts for this project and used as many original number 8 bolts as I could find. Other hardware is stainless steel hex head. The seat is a reproduction. The paint was painstakingly done in the original Honda Candy Ruby Red in a 3 step process and was not inexpensive! The front fender is the original rolled and cut unit showing 48 years of patina. It starts idles and runs strong and all electronics work as they should. The sound of the four into four exhausts is something to behold! It is a real head turner and an unbelievable conversation starter when I am out riding. Storage is always in a climate controlled workshop and it does not see inclement weather! The bike is registered as a 1970 in New York State. Clear NYS transferable registration in hand as NYS does not title pre 1973 motorcycles. This is a no reserve auction and will go to the highest bidder. Pickup is in Saratoga Springs, NY. Full payment and pickup is due within 7 days unless otherwise arranged. I am flexible.
