Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1963 Ford Fairlane 500. I bought this a couple years back. It had been in the prior owners garage for over 20 years. I did not run when I purchased it and it was a project my son and I were interested in taking on. Due to old gas, we had to replace the fuel tank, sending unit, fuel filter and rebuild the Holley carb. Now that it's running, it's clear that it has a fairly agressive engine. I think it was built to drag race. Under the front seat I found an old for sale sign that said: 302 engine with 351 heads ported and polished, stall speed converter with shift kit and 411 gears. Judging by how this runs I think it has a nice cam too. It has an edelbrock aftermarket intake and the front brakes were converted to disc - who knows what else was done. Not knowing it's history I cannot vouch for everything that was done to this car, but I can tell you the motor is pretty healthy. Healthy enough is that I think it's too much for my teenage son and we are selling it to find something more suitable. I bought the car in particular because its pretty solid. I looked at several projects and almost all were rust buckets. As the car now sits it needs minor repair to the trunk pan and the floor pan will need patched in spots. Shock towers, fenders, doors, rockers and frame all look pretty good. It was painted a long time ago in its original Raven Black and over time it accumulated several scratches and a few dings and chips and paint looks light in several spots - kind of a cool patina if you ask me and pretty straight panels too. Someone successfully converted this to a console shift car as thats how it operates now. The original column is still in the car and the counsel was never fit and is in the trunk. It looks like all the hard to find molding is there and the bumpers look pretty nice. To be a show car this one would need mostly all restored and is a great candidate for it or to turn into a Thunderbolt replica. The wheels and tires are new as is the aluminum radiator. I have not driven it more than a couple of miles since getting it running so please don't expect to drive it home. It must be trailered and gone through by someone who knows these to get it road worthy. I tried to describe it to the best of my ability. Please look close at the pics. Again this is a nice car to start a project with or can be a fun driver as it is with some fine tuning and finishing touches. Selling as is - no test drives or joy rides. If you have any questions please ask before buying or making an offer. $500 due at time auction ends and balance due at pickup no later than May 14, 2017. Cash or wire transfer preferred. Thanks for looking
