This 1971 VW is a great restoration project. The vehicle has had mechanical work to get it running and driving, and passing inspection. The engine is rebuilt with approximately 2000 miles on it. After mechanicals, the body was next followed by the top and interior. I am being forced to abandon this project. The bodywork is significant, floors, bulkheads, spare tire floor, rear floor, all need replacement as some skins and a fender or two. The top is frozen but I have sourced a replacement frame. Convertible top and interiors are all readily available as are the body panels. I simply don't want it to end up in a crusher, and have to devote the time and money elsewhere. The car has good bones.
