1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Roadster - 70,057 CarFax Documented One Owner Miles - Garage Kept New York State Residents Please Understand Your Restrictions When Bidding On This Vehicle. The older gentleman who owned this car hit something with it every couple of months.CarFax shows 5 reported accidents. Only God knows how many unreported accidents - no frame damage or airbag deployment on any of them.Pleasant old guy, but I certainly will not go on a road trip with him unless I drive!This car runs and drives nice.I drove it over 40 miles no problem, however, it needs work!!The photos show the fender benders.Interior needs some attention (as pictured).The check engine light was on when I picked up the car.The code was for the computer in the transmission.Shift is good but a little funky 'til it warms up.Needs a tire or two - they should get you home, but need replacing.Trunk and hood pistons don't hold.Brake pads feel good, but pads are low.Has a crack in a rear spring.I could not figure out the retractable top's operation, so assume it does not work. I may be doing something wrong.Headliner is coming down over the driver side area.Car is almost a parts car.You can drive it home but needs work!No Reserve! No Buy It Now! Please Don't Ask!Because this car won't pass NY State inspection ...New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will easily pass this strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected. There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3 are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy.
