1999 Ford Ranger EV. Factory built as Electric Vehicle, not a conversion. RARE. Why haven't you heard of these? Approximately 1500 vehicles were produced from 1998 to 2001. Unfortunately, most of these trucks were crushed along with the GM EV1 and similar vehicles after their leases expired. Fewer than 400 Ranger EVs remain. This truck was factory white then painted yellow. It has been a blast owning and driving it but I'm changing jobs so it has to go. Great owners group: Battery pack is located between the frame rails for low center of gravity. They are not in or under the truck bed like many conversions. New HiPower lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells were installed 2011 timeframe. Wicom BMS with touch screen controller located in center console. The truck does "start" and drive. There is one cell within the pack that is bad so range is limited. I have at least 10 extra unused cells that will go with the truck along with the Ford NGS Tester for the EV. Factory charger has been replaced with Wicom 3KW charger that runs off 85-265VAC so either 110V or 220V will work.
