1969 BMW R69US 40K miles Original Survivor Condition I bought this bike in 2001, it came from the original owners estate. They told us that the original owner was a German fellow who had fought in WWII in General Rommel’s advanced tank guard in North Africa as a tank mechanic. He became a US citizen and retired to California in the early 1960’s. When I got it I replaced the spokes with stainless steel, exhaust system, clutch, all control cables, rubber products, and tires, changed all fluids, and added some period correct accessories. I attended a few vintage rallies on it and rode it sparingly then put it on display at my business where it has sat until now. I flushed the tank and put fresh fuel in it and fired it up and I rode around the neighborhood. It is a very nice original matching numbers R69US (two year model) that will need a little freshening up, however, it is a solid rust free original.
