1980 Volkswagen VW Rabbit Pick up Truck - commonly called " CADDY " Lago-Blue - in great condition. 1.5 diesel 4 cylinder non-turbo engine - odometer shows 39xxx ( it only has 5 digits )4 speed manual transmission - 1st gear shift linkage is goofy but you get used to it.Factory NON-AC truck. 1980 Rabbit truck commonly called CADDY - first year of the rabbit pick up truck with the " WESTY " Style front end available only in 1980. The body is in great condition for 37 year old VW. Came to Nebraska from Idaho Pinch welds up front look awesome. No strut tower or floor pan rot - one spot of rust on driver rocker in the middle - but nothing major. Even the rear part of the bed behind rear tires is SOLID. Starts right up - runs well. Tires look old - i drove this around last saturday doing errands and loading up stuff using it as a truck. Steers , runs and stops. The brake pedal is pretty HARD - you get used to it. Interior is decent - seats are torn , dash is cracked. Door panels look good - headliner material is falling downRear sliding window - have not tried opening it. The driver door looks to not be original i see maroon paint under it where it has chipped off. Inside the door jam of the door is lago-blue as well but outside of door shows come paint cracking and you can see red under it. Front turn signals are not hooked up - not sure why , wires are hanging there. Windshield is cracked. Great project - or awesome daily driver errand runner.
