Vehicle Detail

1965 Triumph Bonneville 650cc T120C -- older restoration but low mileage. The T120C was the 1965 iteration of what became known as the TT Special. This bike has the period correct Dunlop K70s, Dunlop wheels, correct Amal 931 carburetors and air cleaner, correct aluminum fenders, correct kill switch, correct tachometer and bracket, correct ET ignition coils, correct petcocks and correct package tray. Matching engine and frame numbers with VMCC certificate of authenticity. Just changed transmission and engine oils and cleaned carburetors and petcocks. Compression is higher than standard Bonneville, so I am running leaded racing gas. Starts right up and sounds good. See attached videos below. Triumph produced 775 T120Cs in 1965, making the 1965 T120C the third-most rare of the five years of TT Special production 1963-1967. This was Triumph's factory racer, delivered new with no lights, no battery, no key ignition, no muffler, no horn, no speedometer, no mufflers, pivoting footpegs, higher compression pistons and lower gearing. The T120C was raced with great success in the U.S., often with no alteration, and was a great wheelie machine on the street. Racer Eddie Mulder: "Once they came out with the TT Special, we were down and gone. All you had to do was change the exhaust pipes [to the TT down pipes as on this bike] and you had an out-of-the-box racer." The 1965 T120C had the optimum frame and fork (rake) design. Mulder claimed that, "Anything that steers and handles is a copy of [the 1964/65 Triumph frame]." This bike was delivered new to Triumph Corporation USA in May of 1965. Clean signed New Jersey title.
