2003 Chevrolet Avalanche 25006.6l Duramax Lb7 Diesel Automatic 5spd Allison Trans 4x4All work was professionally done by Interstate Truck Repair, they do all types of diesel swaps and they did a terrific job, it looks like it were factory. The truck came factory with an 8.1l v8 gas engine. I always loved the avalanche and loved the duramax. As you know there was no factory diesel option for the avalanches. Did some research to ensure the swap would go smooth as possible. I bought a running and driving 2003 Silverado 2500hd 6.6l diesel with all the same options as the Avalanche. Everything from the Silverado was swapped into the avalanche. Drivetrain, wiring harnesses, computers, fuse blocks, radio, hvac controls, steering, gauge cluster.... EVERYTHING. In other words this was not a pieced together project with parts from 10 different trucks, this was a direct plug and play swap and everything is matching and works together as it came from the factory. When the truck was finished it started up like it was never shut off. Essentially a 2003 Silverado 2500hd in 2003 avlanche 2500 shell. There are no bugs, no glitches, no issues. Like I said works as if it where factory. The body has 190k miles and the drivetrain has 158k miles, the mileage displayed on the odometer is the true mileage of the drivetrain as it came from the same truck. With that said. The truck runs and drives great no leaks, smoke or noises. Has New injectors from Lincoln Diesel with less than 100 miles on them. Tons of new parts that I had replaced while the truck was apart. Oil pan, motor mounts, transmission mounts, all body mounts and bushings, all the seals were replaced, ujoints, driveshaft, starter, neutral safety switch, transmission lines, brake lines etc... Transmission shifts great and on point and 4wd works flawlessly. Brakes are good, tires are good. Truck is lifted 3" with 33x12.5 tires on 20" Rockstars in great condition comes with all center caps as well. Drives straight, no wobbles no shakes. Does 100mph down the highway (I do not advise speeding). All exterior lights and functions work as they should. The interior is in great shape no rips or tears. I had the leather redone, there is a mark on the back seat but it never bothered me. Its all 2 tone leather tan and gray. Power driver seat, power windows and locks, CD player, factory subwoofer, bose speaker system, center console, etc. Every factory option but moonroof and heated seats, and again all work and function as they should. Mechanically the truck is awesome, the only thing it really needs is a little exterior cosmetic TLC. The body is clean, has some bumps and bruises here and there, not a show truck but still looks great. I planned on doing the exterior last and having the truck painted and all that good stuff but ran out of time and money. The truck needs passenger marker light has broken tab, passenger mirror has crack, has typical new england rust on rockers and wheel wells, crack on driver body cladding, and rear tailgate has a scratch and a broken handle (still opens and closes fine). Like I said minor cosmetic things. Doesn't effect how the truck performs. Frame is perfect no rust or rot. Not a show truck but looks awesome and gets tons of compliments. Wouldn't take much to make the truck perfect. The hard work is done, interior and drivetrain are done all thats left is the cosmetic things. This truck will last a lifetime. I would and have driven this truck everywhere and anywhere. Ive driven it as long as 10hr trips non stop, its great on fuel, pulls like a train, and is super comfortable to drive. Very reliable and dependable always starts. Its a diesel they speak for themselves. I wish I didnt have to sell but new baby and lack of storage forces sale. Like I said great truck and one of a kind. I like to be different I don't like to pull up to home depot and some pull up next to me with the same truck. Will not find another one like it.
