Rare 1981 VW Pickup. solid driver, DIESEL 1.6 I.D.I. engine known for 50 MPG. Factory slider rear window. Side and rear window are pro tinted, new timing belt, water pump, battery & cables. Engine oil/filter, transmission, coolant, brake fluids flushed/serviced, new fast glow plug conversion with new hard lines & rebuilt injectors, recent injection pump timing set. new air shocks, all brakes, drums, rotors. Radial tires wore evenly with more than 50% tread, original hub caps and often missing spare (on bracket) included. New Monroe air shocks Owned for years and, very reliable, used for occasional run around. Salvage title, Not sure why as I can find no body/mechanical damage but may be due to past engine issue for salvage title status? Past owner says he installed a 60k Jetta engine, no papers but runs great to verify as correct. Very solid driver, rust free Ca. truck. Rear bumper not included unless bid hits over $5k. This is not a repaint & hide issues like many older vehicles on the market. Will come with (included free) additional diesel 5 speed transmision(desirable freeway 5th gear) This is a very original, solid and as far as I've been able to see rust free, California truck. Dash has dash cover. Seats and other typical wear items have been taken care of and not abused. This is 36 year old, not a brand new $40k truck but the "survivor" condition shows very well for its age. New radiator and misc. engine cooling hoses recently replaced, new thermostat along with other cooling system misc. mentioned above. New shifter linkage bushing kit and (N.O.S.) lower steering shaft bearing (Always worn or partly missing AND no longer available new part!) As mentioned above free, ADDITIONAL 5 speed transmission included presently I will include free, 4 ADDITIONAL spare stock rims with very nice tires (well over 50% tread).
