Vehicle Detail
1984 Chevy Caprice Classic - No Reserve! Serious bidders ONLY please! - It’s winning bidder’s choice! This automobile is either a perfect candidate for complete restoration, or, just drive it as is! This is our 4th Caprice Classic. I purchased this vehicle back on November 15, 2007 from the neighbor of an old couple in Buffalo, NY who purchased it new! They only put 44,000 miles on it before they both finally stopped driving, and I took ownership. I am a longtime fan of Caprice Classics because they have lots of room, seemingly go forever, yet still perform respectably in the fuel consumption department. The reason we’re placing this 1984 Chevy Caprice Classic up for auction is because the costs associated running four cars is more than we wish to afford in our household budget. Originally, and quite recently, I planned to have any imperfections fixed and the entire car re-painted, but my wife says, “No way!” LOL I guess I don’t blame her! Here are some facts: First and foremost, I used this car to drive back and forth to work, a distance of 22 miles round trip. Without fail, it was always parked inside our insulated garage while home for the evening. The odometer reads 34,848.0, which exceeds the odometer's mechanical limits. The real mileage on this vehicle is 134,848. original miles. (One-hundred and thirty-four thousand, eight-hundred and forty-eight miles). I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, anytime. The engine oil was changed every 3000 miles without fail, as in all our cars. The winning bidder may feel 100% confident to pick-up the car and drive it home. Also, this car would be a very safe first vehicle for a new teenaged driver. The paint color is metallic-blue, and the interior upholstery is light blue velour. The AM/FM radio works. I paid $ 300.00 to have a new headliner installed, which included both visors and both rear quarters. All doors, the trunk and hood open and close fine. I had a local trailer business install a lightweight Reese hitch to pull our little rowboat to the lakes in our local area. (The hitch is included). The trunk is clean and includes a spare tire. In a nutshell, if you love Caprice Classics as much as I do, you may wish to fix this one up and enjoy it for decades to come. Or just drive it as is! Either way, I hope it goes to a loving home. It has served us well over the past nine years! This vehicle is also listed for sale locally. The only reason this auction would end early is if a suitable cash offer were accepted before close of auction. Therefore, I reserve that right. This is an “AS IS -WHERE IS” auction sale. There is no warrantee of any kind offered, expressed or implied. Potential bidders are welcomed to inspect the car after 6:00 pm Sunday through Thursday, or on Friday or Saturday, by appointment only. The car is located in Three Rivers, MI 49093. I still have insurance and registration on it, so interested parties may wish to test drive it out on the open road, with me. The enclosed pictures are worth a thousand words, but nevertheless, feel free to email by clicking on the “Ask Seller a Question” link, or, call me on my cell phone with any specific questions that may arise. Please call Greg at (269) 720-8016 and leave your name and number. Please repeat your information a couple of times slowly and clearly just to be safe, and I will return your call. The same day that the auction is closed, winning bidder must pay a non-refundable cash payment in the amount of 50% of the winning bid to my (poplarplace) PayPal account, before midnight. The winner will then have five days to pick up the car and pay the remaining balance in full, or forfeit their down-payment. I accept PayPal, the most preferred method of payment. The specific pick-up time shall be scheduled by prior arrangement with me only. I work Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, EST, so pick up may only occur after I get out of work, or, on a Friday or Saturday. We’re friendly and easy to work with, so please feel free to ask questions of any kind. If you need a little more time before you can pick up the car, we can talk about that, but either way, the balance shall be paid in full within that five-day period of time following auction close. We’re not in the free car-storage business, and do not wish to be! LOL Enjoy bidding! On Sep-26-16 at 10:43:19 PDT, seller added the following information: 1984 Chevy Caprice Classic - No Reserve! We’re not in the free car-storage business, and do not wish to be! LOL*UPDATE... UPDATE... UPDATE: After having read my own auction text several times over in the past week, I suddenly realized that I forget to mention two other details, and they are as follows: 1.) On the left-rear passenger door, there is a plastic armrest that is broken. I have included the broken armrest packed inside a box in the trunk. This does not affect the function of opening and closing the door. A replacement armrest may be obtained through any parts source. However, I am not including a new armrest in the sale. 2.) A while back, some neighbor kid stole our hood ornament from the car, which apparently is something the younger generation likes to make fashion-neklaces out of? (I heard). Well, whatever their reason might be, I immediately purchased a fresh OEM hood ornament which IS included in with the sale of the car. Right now it's stored in the glove compartment, still in the OEM box. I added an additional photo showing the new hood ornament. I apologize to any and all current bidders for my previous lapse in memory. The fact of the matter is, attempting to be 100% thorough in the written description can be somewhat challenging.*My primary interest in adding this update is to provide my best attempt at being 100% upfront and honest, to the best of my ability.Enjoy bidding!
