Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1976 L-82 optioned 4 speed Corvette. Car is mostly all original as far as car and parts on it that came with it new. Main thing not original is radio, tires, etc. Runs good, needs exterior paint job. I recently have gone through this car and it runs very good. I changed spark plugs with AC45RS, cleaned carburetor, changed engine oil and filter, changed manual transmission gear oil, adjusted clutch, and topped off rear end gear oil. greased front end, went through brakes including replacing master cylinder and right rear brake caliper. The rotors all the way around are like new and good brake pads too. Fixed a couple of small things wrong like the backup lights had a loose wire and now they are working fine. Headlights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, 4 way flashers, etc. all work good. The previous owner told me this car was a barn find in New York state and he had it partially restored through a local technical institute about 8 years ago. They repainted it and redid the interior. They did not do a very good paint job in my opinion as it is bubbling in spots, mainly the front end area around the front bumper and some on the top of the front fenders, corner of hood, etc.. I've included pictures of this to give an idea of it's condition. Factory exterior color and repaint color is called Chevrolet's Mahogany. Frame is excellent and no rust or damage I can see. I do not think this car was ever in a wreck or in any road salt, etc., seems too good. The car does have it's original X coded (CHC) L-82 engine and manual 4 speed transmission and air conditioning (A/C still works too). By suffix codes and engine VIN, it is an L82 optioned car, rare for the year. Also not many 4 speed cars were made this year. This one is a factory 4 speed car (CHC suffix code tells that too). All gears there and work fine. Original Muncie shifter works good too. Also has crank roll up windows which are rare and - in my opinion - better than the power windows these cars had these years which never seemed to work right and were a pain when things went wrong. Glass is good and windows roll up and down fine. Heater, defrost, and A/C all work good. Wipers, pop up headlights, all work good. T tops, also good. All date codes match within a couple of weeks that I checked. Like the build date was April 7, 1976, the transmission has a date code of Feb. 23, 1976, the suffix code shows motor was stamped last week of March, 1976 (March 24 as I recall) , heads dated March 22, 1976, etc. Seems to be original Rochester carburetor, etc. Car runs good and interior is in good shape for most part. Red Firethorn leather interior that all matches code on door jamb. Interior not perfect, but no big rips, tears, etc. carpet fair. There is a dash pad over top of dash because of a couple of cracks in top of dash. Everything works except tachometer, horn, and clock. They are all present in the car though. Speedometer, all other gauges (oil pressure, alternator, water temperature) except tach work fine. Engine has good oil pressure and runs cool, not hot. Alternator shows charging system working good. Interstate battery in good condition. No leaks I can see. The spots in the pictures on the ground are water spots from just washing it before I took pictures this morning. I have original owner's manual and some literature that seems to be original to car when it was new that goes with it. I also have the radio interference chrome side pieces for the distributor that go with the car. The exhaust has been completely replaced from the exhaust manifolds back to and including the tailpipes and is in very good condition. Exhaust has no leaks or rust, etc. Seem to be original optioned alloy wheels available in 1976 and good, matching Firestone tires with lots of tread left. Odometer says 67xxx, but clear Florida title says exempt, so actual mileage unknown. Previous owner thought was original 67k miles, but I have no idea. NOTE: Ebay required me to put in mileage. so I had to put in something. Again, I'm not sure of the actual mileage and the title says exempt! Radio is an aftermarket one that has Corvette written on it and also has a sound bar in the back storage area that pictures are included of. Radio works good and has it's manual with it too. This is not a trailer queen, but a running, driving, steering, stopping, etc. car that can be driven away from where it is in Beverly Hills Florida, 34465. Priced good in my opinion at $5250 or reasonable offer, health forces me to sell this car asap. $500 deposit with Paypal required immediately and balance in cash or cashier's check only that clears my bank before car is removed from my property. Like I said, car can be driven from 34465, but if shipping is wanted by buyer, I will help as best I can, but shipping charges are buyer's responsibility. Please serious bidders or buyers only. Ask any and all questions and I will do my best to answer, If you need more pictures, please eBay message me and I'll send them. Vehicle is for sale as is, where is and I reserve right to end auction early if sold locally. I'm sure I've forgotten something, so ask away. Again, I'll do my best to answer. Thank you for looking. Bob.
