Vehicle Detail
This is my wagon. I've owned it for a couple of years, and its the most recent in a series of 5 E class Mercedes 4-Matic wagons that I've owned. I think these are the best cars made in the world, particularly this body style (made from 1999 to 2003). They do everything well and nothing poorly. The thing has airbags everywhere, and has all-wheel-drive, ABS, traction control, and everything else. It runs and drives perfectly, and the black leather interior is in great shape. This car will go anywhere anytime in any weather with complete confidence and reliability. The car is fully optioned. Our babysitter was parked in a line of cars awaiting the release of my 9-year old from school when a teacher backed out of her parking stop and hit our Merc broadside. The damage is cosmetic, but the front fender is pretty well bent up, as is the leading edge of the driver's door. More minimal damage goes all the way back to the rear wheel well, but its hardly noticeable. I was able to find a silver door for $150 and fender for $75 (there are lots of silver E class cars out there), but I didn't buy them because I decided to sell it as-is. That said, the accident did not affect drivability or performance, the doors work fine, the windows work fine, no glass is broken or cracked. It just has a long dent in the side. Other than that, its a fabulous car. The only reason I'm selling is because I kind of inherited a nice Audi A4 sedan that the babysitter loves because its red, so I'll let her drive the Audi for now.
