Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1978 BMW R80/7 motorcycle because I don't have time to ride as much as I want toI bought this bike approximately two and a half years ago from its original owner and brought it back to life. There were never any major issues with it, he had just run out of time to use it.Since purchasing it I have cleaned it up quite well and it starts right up and runs great. Could use some fine tuning but it started right up after being stored in my garage all winter.-Fresh oil & plugs-new petcocks-new battery-Tank and fenders have been cleaned of all debris and repainted29,900 milesOverall it's in great shape considering its a 38 year old bike.Feel free to contact me with any questions or additional pictures but I would love to pass this on to another enthusiast.Clean title in hand! I knew there were upgrades but didn't want to state anything I wasn't sure of. The message below is worth reading if you are a serious bidder on this bike Hi, Since you didn't list them in your auction text, I guess you don't know about all the cool extras on this bike, nice mods for sporty riding. So, just fyi, here are the ones I see. As I recall, dual front disk brakes weren't stock, so the brake master cylinder may have been upgraded as well. The black front fork brace is added for stiffening the forks for harder riding. The black rubber fork boots are added on, and protect the fork seals, prolong their lives. The red metal triple brace in your picture is added for stability in hard riding. The added fuses up front were probably a part of the dual sparkplug system which added efficiency and horsepower and reliability with odd grades of gas. The rear shock absorbers look to be aftermarket Konis, also suggested by the stickers on the side covers, and are probably more adjustable than the stock ones. The oil pan is an aftermarket deep-sump add-on for cooling and reliability. These are very smart upgrades!
