SHORTBED TRUCK FOR RESTORATION, REPAIR OR PARTS. Truck is drivable. 1979 Chevy Shortbed fleetside bed with inline 250 6-cylinder eng. and turbo 350 transsmission.Truck has been under roof storage since it was bought by me in 1991 (25 yrs). Engine runs pretty good but could use some carb tuning.Transmission shifts good. Brakes are working but very marginal (must be trailered or towed for safety). It has twin fuel tanks, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning (no compressor, no a/c lines, needs reconditioned), tan cloth seats (good condition with little staining), tan carpet. headliner is good but sagging because of backing foam breakdown. Engine has split intake and exhaust manifolds for the 6-cylinder layout. New water pump and newer battery. Truck was built as a 454 stepside bed from the factory. It has a primered fleetside bed put on that had rightside only fuel tank / fuel door. Light front end damage from previous owner resulted in owner selling engine/transmission to pay for accident and supplied front quarter panels (Taiwan). Hood is an original GM that isn't buckled but has some light rust thru on front edge. Left side door has rustout on bottom doorskin and a shallow dent, door shell is in good condition. Right side door has rustout bottom of door shell but door skin is good condition. Drive side floor panel has somerust thru, not eaten-up. left cab support is rusted. Cab left rocker has some rust thru in inner rocker, right side rocker is in good condition. Cab corner on right side has rust thru, left cab corner is good. Bed is in good condition has floor replacement panel next to tailgate sealed in over original floor. Bed outer panels very good condition. Truck will also come with: Left door shell (used good original GM), left front quarter panel (used good original GM), taiwan left outer rocker, taiwan cab corners and steel wheel with decent old tire. Michelin tires look great for 25+ years old (not dry-rotted)but should be replaced. HAS 12-BOLT REAR END FROM 454 SETUP. This truck is a good truck overall, needs some work to make it great again. I don't know about all that might need fixed or replaced with this, I have never plated and road tested everything. Seems solid when driven. Please use photos as a guide. Truck is sold AS-IS.
