Vehicle Detail
This Dodge Charger was built from a 1968, 383 car and a 1969, 318 car. The car is titled as the 1969 car with clear title. The current drivetrain is a 400 big block with automatic column shift transmission. The car was painted three years ago with single stage enamel Daytona Blue paint. The body work is not intended to be a show car but was completed to be a car to enjoy. The car is a great "20 footer" and turns heads and gets thumbs up each time it is out. The car does not have factory dash or wiring and was wired to be able to drive but no additional comforts. Break lights are controlled by a simple on off switch on the dash. The car is currently wired with push button start. The power steering does not work but during the build a new gearbox was installed. I suspect but am uncertain that the fault is the power steering pump. The car had disc brakes added from a mid 70's Cordoba. The car has not seen many miles in the last 20 years having just gotten it running in the last few. The car did successfully complete a 350 mile trip recently. The car starts right up and sounds great, especially since a new 675 Holley carb was installed last summer. I had always built this car based on what I wanted in a Charger with no intention to ever sell but times and needs change. I recognize that it may not be viewed as perfect to many but it was just what I have been able to do with time and money over the last 20 years. If you are looking for a turn key show car this is not your car but if you are looking for a car that is solid, rust free and will be fun to drive, look no further. The body was from CA and never had rust in the common Charger spots including the frame. The trunk seal failed years ago and caused rain water to leak in the trunk rusting thre trunk floor. A piece of sheet metal has been bolted in place and a replaced weather strip was installed. The drivers rear window is not in the car but I have the glass and regulator. The regulator needs a little work. this never bothered me as whenever I drove the car I kept all windows down anyway taking advantage of the two door hardtop wide open windows! Obviously with a car of this age it is being sold as is but I am happy to answer any questions you might have to the best of my knowledge but sale will be final and not further negotiated at close of auction. The car is located in Eastern IA and the buyer is responsible for arranging shipping. I am willing to assist loading and would even consider delivery with in reason for a reasonable fee. To be arranged and agreed upon between buyer and seller. Final payment must be arranged and secured within 7 days of auction close. Thanks for viewing my auction.
