Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my very original and numbers matching X33D80 Z28 Camaro. This Z28 was born in Ohio and stayed there until I brought it to California last year. Note the original 1969 Ohio Plates. I had planned to keep it for a long time but life has a way of changing your plans. This Z28 runs and drives excellent! Car is very fast and tight. All gauges, lights, blinkers and wipers work as they should. Even the dummy lights in the dash still work. The horn works with both steering wheel buttons but does not blow loudly. This Z28 has the rare center fuel gauge, in dash tachometer without console option. Car has its original power front disc brakes and stops on a dime. Tires are all new. Three of the four 15" wheels are the original YH code wheels. Car has quick ratio no power steering. The interior is the original standard black and is in excellent condition. The headliner is coming apart at the seams. All of the trim, bumpers and glass appear to be original and are in excellent condition. The original rear bumperettes are not bolted to the body and are just hanging on the bumper for the pictures. The left side bolt broke off and will need to be removed where it attaches to the body before that bumperette can be properly reattached. All of the body panels appear to be original to car and are very straight and solid. Car appears to have had some repaint in its original and rare code 53 Glacier Blue although most of the paint looks to be original. Being an original Ohio car there is some rust on the body and underneath as I will describe as best I can later in ad. The engine currently in the car is a 383 stroker bottom end with the original 302 heads, valve covers, intake, and pulleys. The original numbers matching 302 DZ shortblock is out of the car and is included in sale. It will need rebuild. The transmission is the original numbers matching Muncie M21 close ratio. The rear end is the original BU coded 12 bolt posi. Now for the rust. Please note that I am not a body man or expert mechanic but I will describe as best I can. Most of the undercarriage rust appears to be where the tires slung the Ohio road salt. The rear frame rails are rusted mostly at the ends and will need at least partial replacement or repairs. The trunk pan will need at least partial replacement or repair. Shock towers are excellent. Both rocker panels will need replacement or repair. The floor pans will need at least partial replacement or repair. The radiator support will need replacing. The dash has some rust at both corners by the windshield. Some body panels also have some rust but it does not appear that any will need to be replaced with more than a patch. The driver's door skin may need replacing. I know that this may sound like a lot but I am attempting to be extremely thorough. This Z28 is an excellent investment and would be well worth the time and money to restore. It can be driven as is and restored as desired. As far as paper documentation on this Z28, I do not have any. I was going to have Jerry Macneish certify this car but I don't know if he will be here in California before I sell it. I have owned several 69 Z28s and I have no doubt that this one is the real deal. The trim tag has never been tampered with and there is also an original untouched X3 crayon mark on the passenger rear seat bulkhead. All of the numbers matching drive train components already mentioned are original and not tampered with. Please have the car inspected to your satisfaction before placing a potentially winning bid. I have attempted to be very thorough in my description of this Z28 but it is impossible to cover every little detail in this ad and I may have missed something. I can also send serious buyers additional requested pics via text or email. There is a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auction end with balance due within 5 days of auction end. Car comes with No Warranty and No Guaranty. Shipping is the full responsibility and cost of the buyer. Seller reserves the right to end this auction early as car is for sale locally as well. My reserve is set Very Reasonable for this Z28 so keep bidding and you may get lucky. I will only accept a Bank Wire Transfer, Direct Bank Deposit (Bank of America), or Cash in Person for payment. I will accept Paypal for $500 deposit only. My name is Donnie and I can be reached at 561-876-8038 for further questions about this car.
