The car is registered as a 1961 Volkswagen in the State of Washington and I am the original owner. This is not a kit car. The car was built on a 1961 VW chassis using Porsche parts. I did some investing today regarding the origin of the car. As stated above, I purchased the car at a Barrett Jackson auction in January 2014 in Scottsdale, AZ. However, the seller of the vehicle was Park Place Motors of Bellevue, Washington. I spoke to a salesman at the dealership this afternoon who confirmed the car was built by Vintage Speedsters of Hawaiian Gardens, CA, not Vintage Motorcars, as stated previously.
