1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible Click Play in center of video below. This is the one you've been waiting for... the most popular year of the suicide door convertibles. They only made about 3k of these, and there are probably less than a hundred still on the road today... only a handful of those are anywhere near this condition. This car is a show stopper. If you want to stand out among all the Mustangs and Camaros, this is how you do it. We went to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona where there were over 6000 classic cars and this was the only convertible Lincoln we saw. The fresh forest green pearl paint shines like a mirror and really pops in the sun. People are always complimenting the unique color. It was restored back very close to the all original green on green with white top. The car runs, drives, steers, stops, and looks better than it did from the factory. I have owned many classic cars and this is my wife's favorite to drive because everything works as it should mechanically and it's just easy to drive. If you've owned classics, you know that most have little quirks and issues that prevent you from being able to just toss someone the keys without a tutorial on all the tricks to driving it. Not this one. Just get in and go. It starts right up and drives better and smoother than most new cars. Power steering, power disk brakes, ac, power seat, power windows, etc. For such a big car, it effortlessly turns on a dime and stops on one too. New plugs, wires, distributor, fuel pump, hoses, belts, air cleaner, exhaust, (mufflers and resonators) etc make this big block 462 run very strong and smooth. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it to California and back. I spent over $1200 having the transmission completely rebuilt with all the best parts and it shifts perfectly. It's the rare optional cruise-o-matic. It cruises down the highway at 90mph like you're riding on rails. The seats are so comfortable it's like riding on a cloud. I'll stop gushing and just say it's an absolute joy to drive. Come see it and drive it and you will fall in love. As you can see on the video there is a remote for making the top go up and down. It still works from the switch on the dash and the key switch on the rear fender just like it did from the factory. But now you can make the entire cycle happen from start to finish, up and down, with one button. This is awesome at car shows and literally stops people in their tracks. My wife loves to hit the button when coming out of a store and watch people react. There is always a crowd just standing there watching it by the time she gets to the car. The top is brand new and has never even seen rain. The windows all work and go up and down smoothly. The old switches were all replaced with new ones that work every time. Even the vent windows are power. If you know these cars, you know that the windows and top operation are extremely difficult and expensive to get working properly. This one is worry free. Even the auto drop function works perfectly. The rear windows automatically drop six inches when you open the door so they don't damage the top when closing. Then they go back up automatically once the door is shut. It's a really cool feature that very rarely works on these cars. This car doesn't have the typical shakes and rattles of most older cars. It is almost silent cruising down the road. All you hear is the wind and the honks and shouts of the people constantly waving and giving the thumbs up. Give yourself plenty of extra time everywhere you go because people are always going to come up and talk about the car. I'm sure I am forgetting a lot of stuff, but I will let the pictures and video do the talking, and I'm happy to answer any specific questions. I strongly recommend anyone seriously interested come see the car in person and drive it. You won't be disappointed. I am flexible and easy to deal with and I have sold several classic cars here on ebay with 100% positive feedback, so bid with confidence. I will deliver the car to a shipping company within 50 miles if necessary. I will meet you at Orlando, Sanford, or Daytona airport if you want to fly in and drive it back. I'll try to help with shipping and pick up however I can. Please don't bid unless you are able to follow through with payment. The car will come with your choice of the three wheel options pictured. Oh, and the girl is not included. :) Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Whoever is lucky enough to get this car is really going to love it! On Mar-26-16 at 06:59:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks everyone for all the compliments and interest. I am going to answer some of the common questions I'm getting and add some more pics to the listing. I forgot to add pictures of the undercarriage and finally figured out how to embed them into this revision so here they are along with a couple pics of the car at the paint shop. As you can see, underneath the car is solid and in great shape. Ok, here goes.. Yes the car has all the seat belts. Two in front and two in rear.Yes the power seat works. It goes up and down in the front, up and down in the rear, and slides forward and back. All smoothly without hesitation.Yes all of the little chrome trim pieces are on the door handles and the door panels are solid and complete. Yes all the exterior trim pieces are there as well. I don't believe there are any trim pieces missing anywhere on the car, which is rare. Yes the power antenna works which indicates the radio works but there are no speakers as previously mentioned.Yes it has the tilt wheel option and the power vent windows and they work perfectly.Yes the deck lid an flapper panel line up nicely when closed as they should, as do all the other body panels. The lines are all straight on this car. No sagging, nothing out of wack. There are 10 relays located behind the seat that control the convertible top operation and 6 more that control the rear windows and auto drop function. All of these relays have been replaced with brand new Bosch style relays that are waterproof and will work every time for the next hundred years. I Love these cars and have been restoring them as a hobby for many years. I have become very familiar with the common issues and developed certain proprietary techniques to remedy these weaknesses. I build custom relay banks for these cars, which is why everything works, every time. The window switches are also all brand new, sealed, waterproof switches that will still be working long after I'm gone. I have had many people ask me to sell them one of my relay banks or fix their top system for them, but for now, I only work on my own cars that I am restoring. So, you will have one of the very few extremely reliable convertible Lincolns. The screw locks can be a problem an are unnecessary since the hydraulic cylinders hold the deck lid closed so I have found a way to disable them and the lock motor without affecting top operation. This makes the deck operation very smooth and quiet without the lock motor running and you never have to worry about it getting stuck or not unlocking. The motor is still there to give it the original look and can simply be plugged back in if desired. I always install a remote to control the top and have even had the windows on remote in the past. If you know these cars, you know the good and the bad. If you don't, do a little research and you will quickly realize just how special this car is and what it's worth. These cars are iconic and everyone loves them. Who wouldn't want to cruise around in one of these works of art all the time. Unfortunately, many people are scared to own one because of the notorious unreliability of the windows and convertible, the difficulty of finding someone who can fix them, and the astronomical costs involved. I have solved those issues. For good. Not just cleaned or rebuilt the same old relays that are sure to fail again and leave you stuck in the rain with the top half up. Anyone who has owned one of these cars will tell you that is priceless. Thanks again for all the messages and compliments. It's great to hear the stories as well. Keep em coming and feel free to ask any other questions you may have. Good luck bidding and enjoy your Easter weekend! An example of one of my relay banks for the convertible top. Not exactly what's in this car, but same style relays etc. The bumpers and grille were also removed before paint. It's a beautiful green pearl and I have a pint or so for touch up and paint code etc. On Mar-26-16 at 07:15:50 PDT, seller added the following information: It seems some people are having trouble viewing the video so I'm adding a link here to youtube.
