Vehicle Detail
I’m retired, but I’m still a sports car addict. I’ve had a couple of Corvettes, a couple of Vipers, an old Ferrari, a Lotus Elise, a Noble M400, an Alfa, etc. I would have to say this Audi TT Quattro may be the best engineered car I’ve had. The handling is very precise, while the ride is still very comfortable. But, it’s time to put it up for sale and move on to my next toy. I still have a few more squares to check off before I turn in my keys. The previous owner told me that this was the first Audi TT Quattro sold in Texas. This would probably be difficult to prove or disprove, but it makes an interesting story. It also means this is a virtually rust free car. As far as I can tell it has spent its whole life in Central Texas therefore avoiding the evils of road salt. (Many years ago we lived in the Chicago suburbs for a few years & observed what salt does to cars……not pretty.) In my opinion this TT Quattro is in amazing condition for a 16 year old car. I believe this to be the original paint. If it is, it has survived with almost no nicks. There are a couple of minor ones on the rear bumper (see photo). The wheels have a little curb rash (I didn’t do it!) The interior is also in extremely nice condition. The back seat shows virtually no wear. This shouldn’t be a surprise since a circus midget would have difficulty sitting back there. (No offense intended to any circus midgets out there.) I don’t believe there are any nicks or areas of concentrated wear on the front seats. However, they do have what I would call a “bomber jacket patina.” There is a very small nick in the top of the driver’s side door panel where it meets the window slot (see photo). The glove box door opens & closes, but the slide handle is broken. It occasionally comes off when opening the glove box. I feel sure it’s an easy fix, but repairing it has never been high on my priority list. The previous owner was proud of the Kenwood sound system. It’s wasted on my old ears. I listen to talk radio and an occasional CD. When my wife rides with me, she plugs her Ipod (or whatever) into the USB, and we listen to music. I have to admit that it does sound good. It has a subwoofer (?) & I think some kind of amplifier mounted in the back. I would say the tires are about average (50% maybe?). The ABS light is on. The previous owner said it needed to go to the dealership to be reset. We’re about an hour and a half away from the nearest Audi dealer, so I never got around to doing this. I’m not a hard driver, and I’ve never had the need to test the ABS, so that’s all I can say on this subject. All in all, I doubt that there are very many 2000 Audi TT Quattros that could even come close to the condition of this one. But, as stated above, there is no warranty. It is being sold as is / where is. To make this auction more interesting, I have set a fairly low reserve. I ask, out of respect to the other bidders (& me), that you only bid if you are serious about buying this Audi TT Quattro and only if you are financially prepared to follow through. Also, if you have negative feedback or 0 feedback, please contact me prior to bidding. Thanks for considering my TT Quattro & bid to win! The winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of auction end. If no contact is made within 24 hours I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next highest bidder, or sell it otherwise. Funds must be confirmed by my bank prior to the car leaving my possession. Pick up and/or shipping of the car is the responsibility of the successful bidder.
