Vehicle Detail

1966 Shelby Cobra - West Coast 427 'Stallion-style' Cobra. Built in 1991-1994. Harley Davidson Birch White/Buckskin. Red team stripes. West Coast Cobras are recognized as “the big man’s Cobra”; providing more comfort and legroom in the cockpit (6 inches longer, 4 inches wider than standard), gran prix driving comfort and road handling stability. This car was designed from the ground up to provide perfect 50-50% front/rear weight balance with a big block motor. The tremendously rigid TIG-welded tubular steel space frame has a monocoque backbone providing torsional stiffness while maintaining safety energy zones of controlled penetration. The ¼” single-piece fiberglass construction of the main body along with the double-walled doors, hood and trunk provide superior strength yet lighter weight. Additional driver and passenger safety features include a FULL roll bar that integrates directly into the frame, double wall construction throughout the tunnel and firewall, a substantial steel subframe within the doors designed to minimize side crash impacts, and a custom aluminum fuel cell safely isolated from potential collision. Under the hood: ’71 Ford/Lincoln big-block V8, 429 cid bored over an additional .30 - 450 hp/393 tq at rear. Outfitted with: an aluminum Edelbrock Performer 460 intake manifold, Holley 926 cfm carburetor, Cobra Jet aluminum heads, brushed aluminum headers & sidepipes with sidepipe guards, full MSD ignition set-up (includes multiple spark discharger, tach adapter, adjustable spark timing control and MSG Blaster), Edelbrock chromed bow-tie air cleaner, Cobra 429 valve covers, rack n pinion power steering. Dual fan radiator w/ auto trigger thermostat. Chromed trim all around the engine compartment, and firewall-mounted engine-compartment lamp. Geartrain: GM 700 R4 O/D tranny, w B/M automatic shifter, Ford 9" rear. Chassis, suspension, braking: coil-over front & rear suspension, rack & pinion steering. Wilwood brakes (4-wheel disc). Rolling stock: American Racing aluminum Shelby rims fitted with BF Goodrich Radial T/A rubber [265/50Rx15" front; 295/50Rx15" rear]. In the (grand touring-outfitted) cockpit: Durable high quality buckskin-colored boat leather (rain resistant), deep bucket seats with R.J.S. 5-point racing harnesses (for both driver & passenger). Grant competition steering wheel, tilt steering column, burlwood dash panel fitted with 7 VDO black-faced gauges, side door pockets, Tonneau cover. Exterior particulars: fully-functional, frame-mounted, full-width chromed rollbar [fitted with an extra-cost and effective plexi "windbreaker" inside the rollbar], center-mounted LeMans-style hinged aluminum fuel-filler cap, chromed grille, trunk-mounted battery with electrical kill switch, 17-gallon [64-liter] custom aluminum fuel tank. This beauty has always been garaged and covered [inside the garage]; never raced or abused. Includes car cover and spare wheel/tire for rear.
