Vehicle Detail

*Relisted due to non-conclusive local sale* Thank you for your interest in my 1988 Mercedes-Benz 300CE. My particular vehicle is a stunner in its rare Cabernet exterior and Cream interior color combination, and you will find that this car presents itself exceptionally well, especially for the age and miles. The engine and transmission are strong and reliable, having benefited from comprehensive maintenance throughout the vehicles lifetime. The exterior is essentially perfect, having been painstakingly repainted by the original owner, the only flaw to include the paint on the upper portion of the rear bumper. The interior is original and in close to excellent condition, with very minor flaws in the leather on the front seats, the rear seats looking untouched. Unfortunately I do not have the time to keep up with two cars and I do not get to drive this one as much as I would like. In an effort to be as descriptive and transparent as possible, I will share as much of everything I know about my vehicle as I think the above-average reader can handle - bear with me. Originally owned by an executive for The Hartford insurance company, no expense was ever spared on this vehicle, which is fully supported by the receipts of thousands and thousands of dollars of maintenance. Virtually every maintenance record is on hand, dating back to the very first service in 1988. Additionally, some novelties such as a vehicle mileage log from the original owner are present and included, as well as many personal letters that were written to service centers thanking them for their outstanding work on the vehicle. The man was nothing if not thorough, one of the more comical instances is an insurance claim made against a person who dinged the door of the Mercedes in a parking lot (which was obviously repaired) that rather aggressively describes the owner of the other car as careless and inconsiderate. This vehicle was incredibly important to him, as it is to me. Original ownership was maintained from 1988 to 2013, upon the death of the owner. I purchased the vehicle from the man who purchased it from the estate sale. This Mercedes-Benz has spent the vast majority of its life in Florida, now Georgia, and as a result is entirely rust free. Recent (last 1,500 miles) notable maintenance includes: Front drive line flex disc Rear drive line flex disc Differential mount bushings Idler arm bushings Correct Denso T20EP-U non-resistor spark plugs Engine air filter Alternator voltage regulator Battery Front sway bar bushings Driver side tie rod Throughout the years this vehicle has been obsessively kept up with and has had key issues for these vehicles addressed. Notable maintenance throughout the lifetime of the vehicle includes: Valve seal replacement Transmission pump repair Air conditioning system replacement As well as many, many other things which are all documented within the service file. Please do not hesitate to ask about a particular concern, I almost certainly have a receipt for it. All significant items of classic Mercedes-Benz vehicles, which often get lost, are present and accounted for. Parcel shelf first aid kit Mercedes-Benz vehicle tool kit Full size spare tire Four Mercedes-Benz keys including Valet and original leather key fob New vehicle documentation from 1988 has been preserved and will be included with the vehicle Original Window Sticker Mercedes-Benz Vehicle Information Card Original Vehicle Invoice New Car Pre-Delivery Inspection Mercedes-Benz Odometer (Mileage) Statement Owners Manual Supplemental Restraint System pamphlet Becker Electronic Radio Operation Guide Operation of Automatic Climate Control card Maintenance Booklet Mercedes-Benz 1988 Owner's Service and Warranty Policy pamphlet Factory Approved Service Products pamphlet Mercedes-Benz of North America Dealer Directory Mercedes-Benz "What to do in case of an accident" packet 300 Class brochure providing comprehensive information on every 1988 Mercedes-Benz 300 Class product is included, and an additional packet providing all technical specifications. As well as many additional items that are included in the maintenance file. Virtually every vehicle function and accessory is fully functional, with a few minor exceptions: Driver sun visor cover attachment points are broken. The cover has been kept and is included. Driver seat belt presenter loop is torn. Both presenters are fully operational. Center HVAC vents operate at their leisure - both heat and air conditioning perform flawlessly Power antenna operates at its leisure - believed to be a switch or contact concern Power passenger side mirror switch actuates vertically, not horizontally - likely a switch concern Passenger fender has a very inconspicuous rub mark. Almost imperceptible unless up close Minor transmission fluid drip if allowed to sit. Very minor, but I want to be entirely transparent. Any shipping of the vehicle will be entirely the responsibility of the buyer after I have received full payment. Potential buyers are strongly encouraged to make an effort to view the vehicle in person if possible. As detailed as I have attempted to be, there may be things which have slipped my mind. Please do not hesitate to ask about anything of concern to you, I will answer it to the best of my ability. Thank you again for your interest and happy bidding! Additional pictures available.
