This auction is for a 2010 Cadillac DTS 6 passenger sedan has been used as a limousine. The car is finished in Black Raven clear coat with the Premium Nuance Ebony leather interior. It’s powered by a 275 horsepower 4.6L V8 engine that runs rings around the Lincoln Town Car whose 4.6L engine only puts out 239 H.P. The Cadillac engine is known for it’s high power output, good economy and inherent smoothness. It features chain driven overhead cams with hydraulic lifters for smooth running and low maintenance, coil on plug ignition for all weather reliability, multiport fuel injection for maximum power and economy and drive by wire throttle for precise engine control. It has a sophisticated engine management system that allows the car to go up to 50 miles with no coolant (a.k.a. camel mode) by alternately cutting off spark to individual cylinders and allowing them to cool in case the radiator or hoses have a leak. That is a great feature to have if you plan to use the car in a limo service, since being stopped at the side of the road with a burst radiator hose is bad for business, and with this feature, you can safely complete your fare. Another thing to consider if you are in the snow belt is that the Cadillac is front wheel drive and will go through snow and ice covered streets that would have the rear wheel drive Town Car just spinning it’s wheels. There is a reason the White House switched from Lincoln to Cadillac years ago. The car has the Livery Package (option code W20) which was never available to the general public, so if you like exclusivity in your automobiles, this vehicle may be for you. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission with overdrive along with All-Season Traction Control. It has a low first gear that provides brisk acceleration from a stop, while the high overdrive top gear allows for effortless highway cruising and excellent fuel economy for such a large car. When driven with restraint, you can average over 20 mpg and expect upper 20’s mpg on the highway. That’s something most owners of other V8 powered professional cars only dream about. And it runs great on just regular gas! Premium fuel will provide maximum power but the engine management system adjusts for regular grade gasoline such that the difference is unnoticeable in normal driving conditions.  The traction control system lets you drive through snow and ice covered roads almost as confidently as a four-wheel drive car. It uses the components from the ABS system and the electronic throttle to regulate engine torque to enhance traction with wheel slip of one tire of the vehicle being counteracted by applying brakes to that wheel causing torque to be sent to the wheel with the most traction. Rounding out the DTS is a steering and suspension system made to comfort your customers as well as the driver while providing excellent road feel and positive feedback. Start with speed-sensitive variable-assist rack and pinion steering for quick maneuvering and easy parking on congested city streets. Add a 4-wheel independent suspension for a smooth ride on rough city roads and a taught controlled ride on highways. Then end with rear air shocks to level the load no matter how many passengers or how much luggage you carry. If you are familiar with the DTS you may want to skip over this as it’s quite lengthy, but if you are not, it will provide a comprehensive though not all encompassing overview of what the car is about. StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Program (ESP) enhances directional control with over/understeering of the vehicle being counteracted by applying brakes to the appropriate wheel to create a countervailing vehicle movement in combination with the All-Season Traction Control System (TCS) which helps counteract wheelspin on ice and snow covered roads. These two systems can prevent the car from skidding and going out of control on snow and rain slicked roads. Tri-Zone Electronic Climate Control (ECC) with outside temperature display and cabin air filter has separate comfort zones for the driver and front passenger like many luxury cars do, but it adds a third zone for rear seat passengers. Rear passengers can independently adjust temperature, airflow and fan speed with a control panel in the rear of the center console. If the driver likes it cooler, the passenger can still keep their side warmer by adjusting the control unit. A solar sensor, exterior temperature sensor and interior temperature sensors automatically adjust the comfort level to the desired setting. High Intensity Discharge (HID) xenon headlights provide a much brighter and longer reaching light beam than conventional halogen lights. In Auto mode you never have to turn the headlights on or off yourself as a light sensor detects the ambient light, and in delay off mode, the headlights stay on up to two minutes after exiting the car to illuminate your driveway. LED tail and brake lights illuminate slightly faster and bright than conventional bulbs giving the person behind you a quicker warning during panic stopping that could be enough to avoid an accident. Remote vehicle start system lets you start the car from inside your home (or anywhere within the transmitter’s 200 foot range) on cold days so when you are ready to drive off it’s warmed up enough to be comfortable. And no, you don’t have to be a “bomb worthy” head of state, mobster or billionaire to appreciate its uses. It can be programmed to turn on the defroster, heater as well as the A/C in summer and is completely secure. The doors are locked so no one can drive off with the car, and even if someone broke in, they would still need the key since the PASS-Key® immobilizer would shut the engine off if the car was driven without it. The OnStar® System is the world's most comprehensive in-vehicle security, communications, and diagnostics system available today. All it’s features are too extensive to list here but highlights include, remote unlocking if you leave your keys inside, vehicle tracking and immobilization if your car is stolen, automatic call for assistance if you are in an accident and the airbags deploy (great if you are unconscious and have run off the road where no other drivers would notice you), trip routing, navigation aid, etc. The tire pressure monitoring system lets you see the pressure in each individual tire in the DIC display without having to get out of the vehicle or use a tire pressure gauge. It also has a low pressure warning if a tire goes below a set pressure. If you get a nail in a tire, the DIC will display a warning before the tire goes dangerously low so you can either change the tire at a safe location or add air and repair the tire later. Electrochromic auto-dimming interior rearview mirror automatically reduces glare from vehicles behind you by darkening when bright headlights approach from behind. The turn signals have a one-touch lane change feature that activates for 3 flashes with just a touch. The underseat mounted battery is away from the harsh under hood environment so it will last longer and it provides better overall weight distribution in a front wheel drive vehicle. There is a remote under hood positive terminal for jump starts. Battery rundown protection automatically shuts off inadvertently left on electrical consumers like map lights after about 20 minutes to prevent running down the battery, and Retained Accessory Power (RAP) lets you operate electrical accessories like the stereo, power windows or sunroof for up to 10 minutes after shutting off the ignition. The car won a 1st place trophy at the Capitol Cadillac fall car show in Greenbelt Maryland. (Photo at end of listing.) All the glass, moldings, emblems and trim are in great shape. The paint has been cleaned with Meguiar’s Smooth Surface Clay System, polished with Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze cleaner polish and topped off with Meguiar’s Ultimate Synthetic wax for a deep high gloss shine. The interior is nice too with no excessive wear, stains or dirt. The leather is smooth and supple with no rips or cuts and has been treated with Lexol® leather conditioner. The engine compartment is very clean and has been fully detailed while the trunk looks like its hardly ever been used. Mechanically it runs and drives great as well. Owned by a limo company, you can be certain it has been maintained properly, as their income depends on reliable vehicles. There are no warning messages in the Driver Information Display. The engine pulls strong and feels smooth both at idle, while accelerating and throughout the cruising range and the transmission shifts like it’s supposed to. The steering wheel is on dead center going down the road with no shakes or vibrations at speed, the brakes are firm with no pedal pulsations or pulling to one side when stopping, and the suspension is tight.  The A/C blows ice cold. The only issue to mention is an occasional buzzing noise from the instrument cluster. It has a matching set of four premium Michelin Energy Plus MXV4 tires size P235/55R17 with excellent tread on the fronts and good tread on the rears. These tires combine good looks and handling with low noise and a smooth ride while providing all-season versatility and year-round traction resulting in excellent handling and a comfortable drive. With a high 400 treadwear rating and an original 60,000 mile treadlife warranty, you should get over 40,000 more miles out of this set when rotated regularly. They have been balanced with coated stick-on balance weights mounted on the inside of the wheel for a super clean look. These weights won’t corrode and turn ugly like cheap uncoated weights. The spare tire and jack doesn’t look like they have ever been used. The car has been fully checked out and serviced with over $3,200 worth of new or recent parts, maintenance and repairs with original GM, AC Delco, or other name brand parts so that only your enjoyment rather than your immediate attention will be required on delivery. What that means is the CHECK ENGINE light wasn’t reset (cleared) in order to turn it off to hide an existing fault. If an emissions component has a bad part causing the CHECK ENGINE light to illuminate, the emissions readiness monitors will be incomplete plus the car won’t pass an emissions inspection. Some sellers will reset the CHECK ENGINE light to make it appear like there are no issues at the time of sale, but the light will come back on shortly afterwards. It can take hundreds of miles for the readiness monitors to run to completion, so the fact that the readiness monitors have been completed indicates the CHECK ENGINE light hasn’t been reset and that at the time the car was scanned, it would pass an emissions inspection. In fact, it has gone over 600 miles since it was cleared when the battery was last disconnected for servicing. (That isn’t a guaranty that the light won’t come on in the future as a fault can occur at any time without warning, but I have put over 2,000 miles on the car since we got it without the light coming on.) With all the above work the car has received, you should be all set for the next 100,000 miles with just routine oil and filter changes before needing any major servicing. If you are serious about buying a DTS for personal use or for your business that is ready to work right now, this is about as low as they go in this nice condition because of the higher mileage. Sure, you can find many of these cars that look nice and seem like good deals in the $7,000 or $8,000 range, but if after purchase you have to spend another $5,000 for bodywork, suspension repairs, brake work, tires, interior trim and other common repairs, it’s no bargain.  Remember, you can get a great deal on Ebay with prices sometimes way below retail, but no bidder is going to “steal” a vehicle and no seller is going to give one away either. Also when comparing prices, remember the things that you won’t have to spend money on soon after getting it home. With this car you won’t have to spend $1,000-$2,000 on bodywork to fix cracked bumpers, deep scratches or dented doors and fenders, you won’t have to spend $1,000 to rebuild the front end or suspension, you won’t have to spend $700 for a new set of premium tires, you won’t have to spend $400 on a complete front brake service, you won’t have to spend $400 on a complete rear brake service, you won’t have to spend $300 on a tune-up and filters service and you won’t have to spend $300 on a fluids change service. With many of the other listings on Ebay, you’re lucky if they even check the oil before delivery. Also, when comparing this car to the others listed, check if they come with both keys and remotes because a new set from the dealer, with programming, is going to cost you $200. And if you lost that only key, it’ll cost three times as much to replace the security module plus the towing charge. If you are looking for a DTS in excellent condition at a good price, then this car is hard to beat. Remember that we don’t charge dealer processing fees or document fees that many other listings have for $200 or more and bury in their fine print. And don’t be fooled by some other auctions that are advertised as NO RESERVE and start at $100 or some other low price. Since no dealer is going to risk losing thousands of dollars if their auction doesn’t bring enough money, you can be pretty sure he has some “people” bidding on it for him. Especially those auctions that are private listings where it says “User ID kept private.” Also, because my reserve is close to the Buy It Now price, don’t think that you will get a much better deal if you just keep bidding it up instead of using B.I.N., especially if you need it delivered.
