Vehicle Detail
1946 Cadillac Club Coupe - 2door Fastback Coupe Original Southern California car exported a few years ago. 1970 500ci Cadillac Engine mated to a recently bought new TCI TH400 transmission, with low rpm new toque converter Body straight with no dents. Paint was a high end job back then, quite thick with clear coat on top but shows minor wear & small cracks at some places up close inspection, around doors/windows and mostly on the hood center trim. Overall decent paint but now show car level. Interior seats have been recovered & new springs installed when the car was restored. Seats show minimum wear & age and no tears or holes Here is a list of upgrade/maintenance items done since I owned it. All electric temp-controlled SPAL cooling fans (four of them). Engine runs cool even when stuck in mid-summer traffic heat.Fans are running mostly at 50% of the speed - very quiet operation. The fans are variable speed temperature controlled using the SPAL Pulsed RPM fan controller and there are 4 independent controllers, one for each fan. High flow Flow-cooler water pump for more cooling at low rpm. Recently installed high density copper radiator. New 140Amp high power alternator to power all the fans and more. New starter changed a month ago (Nov. 2015) New engine and transmission rubber mounts CD player and high end floor speakers (easily removable if necessary) Installed a new master cylinder a few years back and did regular brake fluid (DOT 3) changes. New rear end axle shaft oil seal, and wheel seal. No axle oil leaks. New front wheel bearings, recent service with new drum shoes, bearing grease packing. K&N air filter (washable) The spare tire has the same tires bought when mounting the current tires. Two cherry bomb mufflers create a deep and powerful rumble of an exhaust sound.. Recent service includes grease-up of king pins, chassis, steering box grease, new rear axle oil, engine oil, oil filter, transmission oil and filter. Wipers are non-functional Key can lock/unlock the door lock but on driver side only. Chrome parts are decent but show some minor pitting and light rust in various areas - no show car but okay from 10 feet. Re-chrome if you whish but hard to see anything from the usual distance onlookers will admire this classic Art Deco beauty This is a car you can drive and enjoy without the hassle and costs of maintaining a 70 years old, under-powered and overheating drive-train & generator/regulator electric system - in today's traffic. The engine has plenty of torque at low rpm, the exhaust sounds great but the car looks totally classic from the outside, with original wheels and period correct tires. Apart from the engine, transmission and cooling the rest is original and fairly easy to maintain. Brake shoes are easy to get new on Ebay. Included in this sale: 1)Dual Master cylinder kit (safety upgrade) - full set containing everything needed for a dual master cylinder conversion ( dual master cylinder, tubes, mount). 2)New spare original water pump 3)Transmission filter 4)Cadillac 1970 Manual (large book, copy), for the engine/trans Car is presently near Yokohama - I will assist for shipping to any seaport from Yokohama Sea Port/Container or RoRo shipping. contact e-mail: 47@bigcadillac.comOn Dec-25-15 at 09:39:25 PST, seller added the following information: Starting price is 31,800 USD (not 1000..).
