Vehicle Detail
This truck is a true survivor. It is a super rare original Oldsmobile diesel "350 D" powered work pickup. Not many of these rigs survived their first few years (or months in some cases) with diesel power even as a coveted luxurious Silverado model let alone a plain jane work truck like this one is. It was built in 7/80 and is a 6200 GVW model with a TH350 transmission and 3.08 gears. Recent improvements include: New head gaskets with ARP head studs, rebuilt injection pump at a local certified Stanadyne shop, new batteries and cables, new glow plugs, rebuilt starter, front wheel bearings, hub/rotor assemblys, loaded calipers and front brake hoses in the last 200 miles. I did change the rear slider window for a solid window, replaced the rear painted step bumper for an original GM chrome step bumper, replaced the painted grille for an OE '80 Silverado chrome grille and the hubcaps are from a '75 Scottsdale. All changes were done for my personal preference only. The truck runs and drives really well and handles like a 55k mile pickup. It has been a fun project for the last several years but I've lost interest in it and have always been more of a 6.2 guru anyway. It does leak some engine oil, transmission fluid and it likes to have it's engine block heater plugged in for a few hours before starting but good luck finding one of these that doesn't! The only real rust is on the left front fender, the right rear fender and on the engine fire wall. Some work is needed on its electrical system (it's not charging and glow plugs are under manual control) before it can be a regular driver. The CB and 2-way radio plus related equipment do not go with the truck. I do have a lot of extra parts if interested: many are discontinued GM NOS parts, an early '90's GM Goodwrench 350 diesel complete engine with 27k miles, a set of (D3 I believe) heads with pencil injectors, intake manifold, injection pumps, injectors (both poppet and pencil), injector lines, a new brass/copper radiator still in the original box, glow plugs, sensors and relays, filters, gaskets, the trucks original build sheet and vintage Washington truck license places to name a few. Please email your questions and come see the truck and parts in person.
