1937 Chrysler Airflow Sedan. SPECTACULAR! See VIDEO 1937 Chrysler Airflow Sedan Located in Portland, Oregon. Listed on behalf of Monte Shelton Motors. Introduced in 1934, the Chrysler Airflow offered revolutionary art deco design and styling, with innovative unibody construction and safety features. It was truly unlike anything else on the road. 1937 marked the final year of the Airflow, with this example being one of the just 4,370 Airflow C-17 Sedans made that year. This particular car underwent a painstaking, 10-year concours-quality restoration. Everything was done to make this car a standout. The rust-free body was stripped and painted in correct 1937 Chrysler 2-tone color combination with "Santa Rosa Sand" body and "Delmonte Beige" (brown) fenders. A striking, dignified combination. The paint is exceptional with a beautiful finish throughout. All chrome was re-plated. Restored running boards. Rare fender skirts. Please see photos. The restored interior is striking with correct wool Bedford Cord upholstery. Absolutely stunning woodgraining that looks factory-fresh, down to the edge trim on the seats. Note the correctly restored parquet effect on the glove box doors. The Airflows featured a safety instrument panel with no protruding knobs (about 30 years ahead of its time.) Features dual cowl ventilators and dual windshields that open with a concealed crank for "airflow" ventilation. Beautiful art deco instrument cluster, again fully restored. Rear compartment features seating for three with a folding center arm rest. Robe rail on the back of the front seat. New carpets and headliner. Dome lights work as new. Mechanically, this Airflow is excellent. With rebuilt 323 cubic inch straight eight that develops 130 horsepower at 3400 rpm. Nicely detailed under the hood. 3-speed transmission with factory OVERDRIVE for freeway cruising. 4-wheel hydraulic brakes. A wonderful package. Has seen only limited use since completion. If you are looking for a wonderfully rare and exceptionally restored car for show or go, this is the one. It is one of the finest I have seen and would be a standout at your local car show, on the highway or for a night on the town.
