This Ford/Shay Model A was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the original Model A Ford. The chassis, engine, and transmission are 1980 Ford Pinto, the body is by Shay Motor Co. These cars were sold by Ford dealers, with a Ford warranty about 1979-1981. Notice the brand new Ford steering wheel cover and the brand new set of side view mirrors. Inside the trunk is a mechanical jack and crank handle. Under the car there is an antenna, but there is no radio and no hole for one. The ooogah horn has a great sound. The horn button is located directly below the speedometer and fuel gauge. This car is so much fun to drive. People wave and blow their horns and I give them an ooogah-ooogah back. I use full synthetic oil in the engine to reduce engine wear to the bare minimum. Both running boards have new rubber and metal trim. Also, I put new carpet in the driving cab and rumble seat. I topped up the transmission oil and the rear end oil. I greased the wheel bearings. This car is ready to drive. All you have to do is get in and drive. This car has a 4 speed manual transmission. There is a top, not pictured, which provides shade and some protection from the rain. It is torn and needs fixing or replacing. All the pollution equipment has been removed. Everything works, except the heater. I recommend mounting a heater on the firewall if you need one. There is a chip in the fiberglass on either side of the rumble seat which needs Bondo and a little black paint. You can see in the pictures that the seat upholstery is in good shape. I live in Englewood, Florida, come over and take it for a test drive. There is no reserve. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer.
