Thank you for checking out my auction - please take the time to read the full description below and carefully examine the high resolution pictures. I try to describe the positives & negatives of this vehicle accurately in this description. Check out this 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500 equipped with the 3.0L Mercedes Diesel Engine. People love these vehicles because they have an awesome amount of cargo space while the small Mercedes diesel engines sip fuel compared to a typical American cargo van. This vehicle was previously in the fleet of a heating and cooling contractor here in SE Michigan -- after purchasing this vehicle I have driven it about 200 miles since. This Sprinter features the standard roof height and 144" wheel base. It has an automatic transmission and a nice set of ladder racks on top. Mechanically, this Sprinter is in fair condition but will likely require some work repair before placed into everyday usage. The check engine light is illuminated and I believe the van is running in a reduced power safe mode. That being said, as-is the van seems to be quite drivable and I have driven it for several miles. The engine runs smooth and sounds great. The codes displayed on my reader when hooked up to the OBD-II are P2004, P2005, P2015, P0101, and P242F. There is a significant amount of online information about these Sprinters on forums and such, and one common theme is their diagnosis systems communicate best with Mercedes-specific scanners (as they are much more Mercedes vehicles than they are a Dodge) and not the generic type that I have. I'm sure that whatever is causing it to be in safe mode can be repaired with the right knowledge. As it is, with the reduced power, it is most noticeable from about 35-40 mph on up where it is quite slow to accelerate. It will get to and maintain 70 mph on the expressway, just takes a while to accelerate. The transmission shifts good and goes through all five gears in full automatic or manual "slap shift" mode. The brakes stop the van straight and well, with perhaps a very slight pulsation from the rear brake rotors. The brake pad wear light is illuminated on the dash. This van is equipped with factory cruise control and it works like it should. While driving the suspension components appears to be in overall good shape, a slight bit of noise from the front suspension but pretty good for a van with these miles. The steering appears to be in good working condition and the truck drives straight. Exhaust is quiet and the van sounds good. The engine sounds great and haven't noticed any smoke. I have not noticed any leaks on the ground where this Sprinter has been sitting. While driving, the transmission shifts smooth and goes into all gears. There are no vibrations and this van rides well at pretty much any speed. The tires are all matching size of 245/75/16 - the front two are Mastercraft Courser and the rear two tires are Cooper HTP brand. All have some decent tread remaining. The tire pressure monitor light is illuminated (not sure why). The climate control works and this Sprinter blows air on all blower levels and wherever you want it to (vents, defroster, etc - front and rear). The Heat works great and it feels like the A/C is working but it's been a bit cold here lately. This Sprinter is equipped with AM/FM/CD radio powers up and works like it should. The SRS (airbag) light is illuminated. All of the gauges read properly and there are no abnormal readings. This van has power windows and locks that work well, the driver's door window control is missing the top part of the switch but it still works fine. Two keys with keyless entry come with the van. Overall, this vehicle drives good except for the aforementioned problems but I would feel comfortable driving it where you need to get back to (crossing through mountains might be a little slow going up the hill - the topography is quite flat near me). Cosmetically -- this van is in fair condition with no significant body damage. It is overall presentable but the worst of the exterior is the Sprinter-typical multiple surface rust spots on the body. I see this issue on lots of Sprinters that I look at...they've been spray painted white which doesn't look bad but it is what it is. I've tried to capture these cosmetic flaws in the pictures below, but it is sorta hard to get them to show up on the camera (a few of the pictures show them well). The driver rear sliding door exterior handle is broken but the door opens from the inside. The passenger sliding door doesn't seem to open from the inside or out using the handles (I thought I opened it before, but I'm not sure...the interior paneling has been removed but I haven't tried to figure out why it's not opening...feels like its stuck locked). The rear door bottom latch is not functional but the top ones are and the door locks properly just sticks out a little. The windshield is cracked. The left rear tail light is cracked in the clear turn signal part (covered with tape). The interior is bucket seats with arm-rests and rubber floors. The seats are in good to fair condition (see pics) and the driver's arm rest doesn't stay all the way up like it should. The floors are typical used cargo van floors with some wear. Has tie downs in the back for cargo. Check out the pictures - they speak for themselves! I have tried to capture both the positives and the flaws in those pictures. With a little love, this Sprinter has lots of life left in it and is ready to go make you some money. I have tried my best to represent this vehicle accurately and to the best of my abilities. Earning and keeping a 100% positive feedback rating is very important to me! I purchase most of my vehicles as trade-ins from new car dealerships as traded. I test drive each vehicle on the expressway and around town for at least 20 miles, often over 100 miles, and use that experience to represent the vehicle to you on eBay. Please remember that you are buying a used vehicle and that a certain amount of wear/use/flaws are to be expected on any used vehicle -- including this one. You are welcome and encouraged to come check out this vehicle for yourself and take it for a test drive before the auction ends. I have included over 40 pictures - please check out them out. Feel free to email/call me (Michael) at 734-717-3653 with specific questions and I will do my best to answer them. Auction Details & Payment Information: The vehicle is for sale locally as well so auction can end at any time. Bid with confidence as I have represented the vehicle well. There will be a $100 documentation fee added on to each vehicle sold (including sales to other dealers). A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction ending via paypal. The remaining balance will need to be paid within 7 days of the end of the auction by Cash or Cashier's Check. If you need financing, please have that arranged BEFORE the auction ends. Please only bid if you are 100% serious about buying this vehicle. This means you have a plan for shipping or picking up the vehicle and have the financial ability to pay for it. Due to high amounts of non-paying bidders recently, you must have a PayPal account associated with your eBay Account to bid on my auctions. Please make sure you have this, especially if you plan on waiting until the last hours to place a bid because it can take a while to set this up. Please do not take away someone else's opportunity to buy this vehicle by placing a bid without the full intention on purchasing it. Thank you! If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to call me at 734-717-3653. We are a licensed used vehicle dealer and must collect sales tax/title/plate fees so please contact me prior to the auction ending if you want to know what fees you will have to pay on top of the purchase price. Michigan residents will pay 6% sales tax, $15 title fee, and whatever your plate ends up being. For out of state buyers, each state is a different tax/title scenario. If this is a concern, please contact me before the auction ends and I will tell you exactly how much (if any) tax will be for your state. For out of state buyers, any taxes that are paid to me you will receive a credit in your home state (you will not be double-taxed). All out of state buyers will be required to purchase a 15-day temporary tag/registration for $10.00 without regard to how you are getting the car to your home state (shipping it or driving it) and you will need to send me a copy of proof of insurance for any vehicle you own. This is the State of Michigan's rule, not mine...but from browsing eBay $10 is probably the cheapest temp-tag of any state and you will be able to drive your car immediately and legally. In Michigan, all cars sold over 10 years old are marked as mileage exempt in accordance with Federal law. Basically, this means that the State stops keeping track of mileage on older cars, however Autocheck still does track the mileage and this vehicle is not known to have any mileage inaccuracies or discrepancies. Any New eBay bidders or those with zero feedback, please send us a message or give me call to confirm your contact information or your bid will be canceled. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping. We will work with your shipper to help them in any way we can. We are located in Manchester, MI - a small town in SE Michigan about 20 minutes from Ann Arbor or about an hour from the Detroit or Toledo areas. We are on a main state highway, under 10 miles from the interstate. We can pick up from Detroit Metro Airport or Ann Arbor Amtrak station for free.
