There is a problem with the fuse holder on top of the battery (see pic). the black wire to the left gets very hot and is starting to melt. I hear its a common vw issue that maybe replacement of the alternator harness will fix?? The rad fan wont come on unless the a/c is on...I believe it is related. I dont know and dont have the time to mess with it...it has to go. Maybe someone who knows VW's can fix it easy. this is why Im selling no reserve at a low start point. Hello, I am selling my daughters VW Beetle for her. She recently purchased a newer car. She has been driving this car as her daily driver up to a couple months ago. It is automatic, has a cd stereo with the auxiliary port so you can plug in an ipod or phone, moon roof works great. A/C is ice cold!The car runs and drives great, I would not hesitate driving it anywhere. Drives smooth and straight. Transmission shifts smoothly. No issues with brakes. Its a fun little car. I recently had the following done to the car: Brand new front tiresNew front control armsfront wheel alignment applied headlight kit to clean up the fogged headlight lenses. Nice and clear as you can see in the picsNew alternator in the past yearunder hood fuse panel replaced (common new beetle issue)replaced the interior door handle pulls with aftermarket as you can see in the picsrear tires have 80% tread leftHere are any issues that I am aware of:the front hood lift support doesn't work (need to use a stick to hold it up) its a $25 part on ebay, easy to changefront seats have a couple stains (you can see in the pic)check engine light is on and has been on since the last owner had it. Autozone can do a diagnostic test to check it, which I have had them do in the past, they said that there are no issues.This is all I can think of. I have kept the car garaged as I've had it for the last couple months. Good luck bidding. Buy it now is set at $4000 which I believe is fair for the low miles and condition. please do not ask me to end the auction early outside on an ebay sale.I will cooperate with a shipping company but buyer must make all arrangements and payment to the shipping company.
