Vehicle Detail
This car has been built with quality, brand name components. Engine is a 388 stroker with Edelbrock 850 cfm carb Edelbrock RPM intake, RPM heads, RPM camshaft. Forged Pistons, rods, Eagle crankshaft, Harland Sharp rockers and a Moroso oil pan with windage tray. MSD distributor, 8mm wires. Runs cool, no overheating issues. Lakewood scattershield, Centerforce clutch, Richmond 5 speed. The rear gears are 3:08 that coupled with the tranny is well sorted for both spirited driving and 5th gear cruising. I am very happy with this combination. Suspension is a VBP "Big Daddy" package. It has red powder coated components, composite springs Bilstein shocks and custom offset trailing arms. Brakes are C5 Corvette upgrades with slotted rotors. Steering is a Steeroids rack and pinion setup. Braking system has a Hydroboost setup with a GM Gen 2 pump. Steering column is A stainless Flaming River tilt item, with a Budnik wheel. March front runner setup complete with A/C compressor, Complete Vintage Air/heat setup. Be Cool radiator with twin Spal electric fans. The headlight doors have been converted from vacuum to electric using new motors from a Pontiac TransAm. All of the vacuum driven accessories have been removed and upgraded. The paint is PPG Black with PPG bronze mist stripes. Headlights are halogen, signal and brake lights are LEDs. The front bumper was reworked so as to fit close to the body, eliminating the awkward factory gap. The grille is custom flat stock bar grille. Hood and nose are Ecklers items. Rear of car has been reworked. The back has been "rolled" under to eliminate the "sail effect" that C2 and C3 Corvettes suffer. Exhaust is routed through the center. I used chambered exhaust, as I haven't found anything better than that 60's exhaust note. ACI fender flares molded in, no cracks or blemishes. Centerline 3 piece wheels with BF Goodrich tires. Cost new, just under 7K, Less than 500 miles on both. Interior has a set of leather Recaros with custom dashed and console. Schroth harnesses. Roll bar can be removed as it is sleeved and pinned. My goal was to eliminate weight, I removed convertible top assembly. Hardtop has a removable rear plastic window. This car is set up for fair weather motoring. Windshield wipers can be reinstalled if need be. This is also a "drivers" car. No radio. A Secret Audio setup can easily be installed if desired. I had planned to install a single headrest deck, as shown in photos. The plan was to also have a tonneau cover to cover the passenger compartment. This would make for a unique euro style look. Those were my plans, you can have the components if you so desire. Windshield and side glass is new. I tried to describe car as best as I could. I have owned it for 23 years. Questions and comments are welcome. I might be interested in a late model Ford pickup. Not interested in motorcycles.
