Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1948 Chevrolet 2 dr. Aerosedan, body and frame only. No driveline. The body panels are quite good for a 70 year old car. I obtained it to keep it from being cut up. It looks like someone was going to get it ready to set it up on a 4 x 4 chassis. There is no floor. Floor panels are being reproduced now. I am leaving it on my tilt bed truck so it does not sit on the ground, and for easy unloading to another vehicle with a winch. No title, bill of sale only. Trunk lid and right rear fender are in the trunk. Since Aerosedans are so scarce now, it would be worth parting out a lesser model to obtain the suspension parts, or could be sub-framed, or install another chassis under it. I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is advertised for sale locally too.You can take your time to arrange to pick it up, I would give the winning bidder 6 months to come and get it, the car could stay on the truck, to keep it off the ground. Rockford, IL. is located 80 miles northwest of Chicago, or 60 miles south of Madison, WI., or 80 miles SW of Milwaukee, WI. I will not be removing parts off it, because if no one wants it I will begin either restoring it or go ahead with the plan of setting it up on a 4 x 4 chassis. On Nov-01-15 at 10:11:00 PST, seller added the following information: I just added 8 more pictures as several of you have requested. I opened the left door and the door bottom is quite good, heavier rust area near the LF fender, but fairly minor. Totally useable. All solid all the way back. I could not get the right door open because the handle is missing, but the outer door pictures show there is not much rust. Maybe a 2" x 3" area that could be patched, not all the way through. The firewall is stock, not butchered or cut. Front inner fenders are in good condition as shown in pictures. Hood opens no problem. Although the passenger floor is missing, the trunk floor is intact. Refer to pictures. My phone is 815-420-5068, call any time, if I am in the shop or gone, the answer machine gets your call. Overall, this Aerosedan is too decent bodywise not to be saved. - - Lance 815-420-5068
