Vehicle Detail
This is a 1 owner, I bought it brand new, I ordered it myself, I do have the orig. paper work. It has the 4 speed overdrive, but I put in a Gear Vender overdrive, so when towing, I turn off the 4th. gear overdrive in the Ford tranny, then shift into the aux. overdrive, I can run 70 MPH fully loaded and not twisting the engine so hard. I also installed SS headers from Gal Banks, they did help the pulling power and on the mileage also. A few things that were extra, the sliding rear window, locking rear end, cloth captain chairs, chrome rear step bumper, tach, security group, a camper pkg., this, I did some reading up on it, the camper pkg. came with heavy duty sway bars front & rear, where the towing pkg. did not. The truck still runs great, it has had Amsoil synthetic oil since new. I did fix a few items before putting it up for sale, the rear gas tank, it has a brand new fuel pump assy. in it. In the pic's, you will see a larger tank, 38-39 gal, which I put in when the truck was new, but had trouble with it ever since, it has been out about 3 times, so I put the factory 19 gal. tank back in it, I will let the bigger tank go with the truck, if the buyer wants to mess with it he can. It is a real pain to take it out, you have to pull the hitch 1st. I used the truck in my own boat sales/service business and for my own slide in camper, then later a gooseneck RV. It has really been a good truck, NEVER had to have it towed !!!!!!. The tranny was rebuilt at about 145K miles, I have done brakes, new alt. & starter, they both have a lifetime warranty. The truck has never been in a wreck, BUT, when it was about 3-4 months old, while driving thru Ga. with our slide in camper, we were hit by a TORNADO !!!!!!, the camper was torn out of the bed and spun around in the air and slammed back to the ground, the truck had the hood sand blasted down to the primer, and most of the glass had to be replaced and the bed was bent up, from the camper going out, they wanted to repair it, but I demanded a whole new bed, so they did that. The dealer wanted to repaint the entire truck, as it had little nicks in the paint all over, so when they did, I had them 2 tone the truck, but there paint job did not hold up that well. The clear is coming off, so to make it look nice again, it will need a paint job. Everything works fine, I just towed a trailer with it a few months ago, I would drive it anywhere. I did replace all the rubber bushings up front a few years ago. I sold my boat business a few years ago, I just do not need it any more, that is the only reason for selling it. I would drive it anywhere to deliver it to the buyer, if he pays for the fuel and a plane ticker to get me home, even to Alaska !!!!!. Of course I can not offer a warranty on a 21 yr. old truck, BUT, what I will do, I will let the buyer take the truck and drive it, even take it to any shop to have it looked at, for 24 hrs., if paid in full in CASH, if no damage done to it, after the 24 hr. drive, if NOT happy, then I will refund 100% of the money, that is how much faith I have in my truck, of course I would NEVER do that with a Chevy, LOL. PLEASE LOOK at the pic's, also, I can deliver it to a Fl port for an overseas buyer, but it must be paid in full by a wire transfer and it will not be released until 12 days AFTER the wire comes in to my bank. On a local pickup, CASH only !!!!!, will need a dep. of $500.00 thru Pay-pal. If any questions, feel free to call or e-mail me, home, 727-869-7847, I am in Hudson, Fl., 34669, about 1 hr. from the Tampa airport, I would pick up the buyer at the airport also. It weighs 5,850 lbs., I have had it weighed many times. NOTE, I have many more pic's, but could not get them uploaded, so e-mail me for them. thanks for looking at my Ford, Wayne Trent, Hudson, Fl., also on Face-book if needed. On Oct-29-15 at 14:24:04 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE !!!!!!, I also have it listed local, so I may end the auction early if it does sell !!!!On Oct-31-15 at 12:28:32 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE !!!!, almost forgot, the truck has NEVER been smoked in and NEVER hauled cats, dogs-etc. in it.On Nov-02-15 at 07:26:30 PST, seller added the following information: NOTE 11-2-15 I have had several ask about the overdrive, it is 25-30% overdrive, when running empty you can run the Ford overdrive & the aux. overdrive both, but when towing, you would turn off the Ford 4th. gear/overdrive, then use the aux. overdrive, I have been told by many mechanic's that the Ford overdrive is to weak to town anything heavy, maybe a alu. Jon Boat would be OK. When towing , when you come to the hills, you can down shift the aux. overdrive, then you would be in Ford's 3rd. gear, or down shift to Ford's 2nd. gear and leave the aux. overdrive on, this has worked well for me. On a real long hill like out west, you would start, down shifting the aux. overdrive down or out of overdrive, this would put you in 3rd. gear, if needed you could pull the Ford down into 2nd. gear & upshift the aux. overdrive, that would put in in 2nd gear with the aux. overdrive. If in town traffic, stop & go a lot, I just leave the aux. overdrive off. When out on the highway empty, I run it all the time. Someone also asked about the speed-o, when using the overdrive, there is a elec. unit that keeps the speed-o correct at all times. Also, I did find an extra steel wheel for the truck, so it has 1 good spare & 1 wheel with no tire. Also, I do have the orig. Ford tail shaft that was taken off to put the aux. overdrive on it, so if you ever wanted to take it off, maybe if you sold the truck later and wanted to keep the overdrive you could just put the tail shaft back on and have the drive shaft cut to length.
