Vehicle Detail
Thanks for viewing! I have a 1997 540i for sale. It is in fairly decent shape for its age. Runs and drives great. The engine was replaced last year, and all the seal and gaskets were replaced. The engine had 105k on it and was from a nice cared for 740i that was wrecked. This vehicle does need some issues addressed to be a really nice ride. The front brake pad sensors came on the other day, so they will need to be replaced, the front end has a slight noise, sounds like it may be bushings, or thrust arms. The tires hold air and roll good, but will need to be replaced soon. The car had the catalytic converters stolen off of it, and I ran straight pipe from the downpipe into a magnaflow muffler. If you live in a state with emissions testing, that will surely have to be addressed. I will be replacing all the wheel sensors this week coming up, as it has an abs code for the front 2 wheel speed sensors. Overall, the car runs great, and has plenty of power. I just put a new clutch kit, slave cylinder and line on a few days ago. I put a uuc lightweight flywheel and short throw shifter in at the time of the engine replacement, as well as deleting the cdv. AC blows ice cold, and the heater works great. The interior is pretty good compared to bmw's of similar vintage, with the only issue is the sagging headliner. The arm rest was swapped out for a Euro model flip top arm rest. The power seats all work as intended with no seat twisting or binding. I honestly would love to finish the car and keep it, but I am at a point where I cannot finish some of my more pressing projects without thinning the herd a bit.
